It sounds good but it is simply not true.

So there is no reason that a Protestant minister cant consecrate the bread and wine. All you have given me is that you beleive that one must be in apostolic succession. Where did you get that?
Judas was in apostlic succession and a lot of good it did him, You guys tend to make up things as you go along te claim that te Catholic Curch is the same as 2000 years ago is simply ludicrous.
There are several denominations that claim apostolic succession te Catholic Churc is but one.
Everyone hear has given you very clear, concise, accurate and historically sound information as to why only a catholic priest, bishop or cardinal can consecrate the bread and wine.
Your premise is that the catholic church is one of “many” with apostolic succession…
Your other premise is that either as a symbol or literally - that protestant ministers can and do consecrate the bread and wine…
To me it sounds like protestants are becoming “home-sick”. Imitating the traditions of the of the catholic church that they left long ago because of a few mis-guided disagreements.
The catholic church is the one, true church that Christ intended to exist after His ascension into heaven and of which He left Peter as its first Pope - 263 popes later to Pope Benedict XVI.
This will not change. Nothing or no one will ever prevail against her.
Priests, bishops and cardinals of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic church are the only ones who truly consecrate…all others are imitators of the real thing… this will not change!
Protestant minister can call it what they want…that’s their prerogative…it will be yet another point of divergence.
Argue as you will - it will not change a thing in the catholic church.
It may change something in your congregation…but not in the one, true catholic church.
If protestants are anxious for the real consecration, then they should come home and stay home.
Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.
