You can put me on ignore if you don’t like my posts. I’ll post as much as I like.

I’ll ask you again: in addition to Trump, have you also crossed Biden off of your list as far as presidential contenders go?

Around here, people speak, stores or orgs are made up of people.

As December is chock full of holy days, it is cool when non Catholics recognize this

Christmas is a religious and national holiday. I can celebrate Christmas. No one has impeded me.

It is wonderful for religious holidays are celebrated. Easter has all but been sidelined, thank you secularists.

So, are you going to acknowledge that Biden supports abortion until birth, which, by the way, was the argument by every single Democratic presidential candidate???

This article blogger is the one who makes the claim, ohhh Mr Bidens words SUGGEST he might …

Biden: With the words “under any circumstances,” Joe Biden signaled Monday that he supports the killing of unborn babies for any reason through all nine months of pregnancy.

One point you made is that the Dems give us more government programs and raise our taxes in the process. I’m not so sure that the latter is true. Hasn’t the government deficit expanded quite a bit under recent Rep administrations just as much, maybe even more, than under Dem ones? Think GWB, for example. And insofar as government programs are concerned, what about Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Head Start: aren’t we rather fortunate in having such programs as safety nets especially in hard times such as the present?

Another point: you note that the Rep party, in contrast to the Dem party, has a big tent? Is this really the case today? Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, a moderate Republican, is one of the last of a dying breed of Reps in Congress, as far as I can see. It seems to me that Reps have moved just as far right as Dems have toward the far left in recent times.
Yes, I definitely agree with you on both accounts.

However, when it comes to the abortion issue, you will find plenty of pro-choice Republicans at all levels of government–there’s room in the G.O.P for factions.

But you can count the number of pro-life elected Democrats at the federal level on one hand. Actually, I don’t know if there are ANY pro-life Democrats (Sen. Manchin from W VA?) at the federal level. SHAME!!!

But in regards to the issue of government spending, I would agree with you. Definitely agree when it comes to Pres. Bush–so much government cheese!

And yes, I definitely agree that the current Republican Adminstration and Congress have been spending astonishing sums of money and I’ve wondered WHERE it’s all coming from?!! (China?). The debt is staggering.

But at the same time, much of this money has been spent trying to provide aid to all those affected negatively by the COVID-19 pandemic, and I honestly can’t fault anyone for that. We can’t just let people die without care, and we can’t let businesses go under and people lose their livelihoods. So I think some leniency over the spending during the Trump Administration has to be given. I’m GLAD the government stepped in to help

I think the real division in BOTH parties is between the Old Money and the rest of the younger poorer upstart Republicans and Democrats.

I think a lot of the Old Money Republicans are good buddies with the Big Money Democrats (of which there are PLENTY), and that they support each other in House and Senate votes

The upstarts are continually trying to kick down the doors to “Big Money” in their Party, but so far, they’ve had little success. Yet they know that it’s worthless to try to run under a Third Party so they stick with the two powerful Parties and walk a tightrope soliciting the friendship and support of the Big Money members while at the same time trying to bring about changes.

I think that the Old Money faction in both Parties absolutely despises Donald Trump because they can’t control him. To me, one of the biggest roadblocks to re-election that Pres. Trump faces is this Old Money group.

Actually, godisgood, all of these things absolutely DO infringe on my rights, and if you don’t see it I can’t help you.

–It “doesn’t infringe on my rights” when protesters pull down a (taxpayer funded!) statute of someone I admire and replace it with spray painted “F*** THE COPS” and “RACIST”? That most certainly does infringe my rights.

–It infringes on my rights when nuns are forced to pay for birth control.

–It infringes on my rights when bakers and florists are ordered to pay millions in penalties or else participate in (sham) marriages (and as an aside, the Colorado baker at the center of the whole ‘gay cake’ fiasco also got sued for refusing to make a cake of Satan.

It infringes on my rights any and every time Christianity is held up for mockery; or I’m told “shhh! don’t offend the gays/PC crowd.”

I’m all for being “tough.” The problem I see is this: Any time a Christian punches back, some misguided few Catholics say, “oh, you need to be tougher!” Or they condemn those who do punch back (like Trump!) as 'uncouth" or “impolite”, and tell me I need to be more like, say, Mitt Romney or Paul Ryan - polite but weak men with whom I have, and desire to have, nothing in common with.

Will respond again if you are able to provide an actual statement.

It is okay to say “it is my opinion that x statement is a signal for y statement”, it is also laudable to say “I am not able to provide a direct quote”.

Keep looking beyond opinions and echo Chamber blogs.

Those things are bad enough - it’s all the more appalling that that vileness has been defended on this very thread.
Another lie. Just because someone wouldn’t do as you asked and say how bad it was, doesn’t mean it was defended. It was ignored. Much different than defending it.

This is from joebiden.com, his own web site:

"He will champion improving women’s health and our access to health care, and reverse the Trump Administration and states’ all-out assault on women’s right to choose by:

  • Working to codify Roe v. Wade .
  • Supporting the repeal of the Hyde Amendment.
  • Restoring federal funding for Planned Parenthood, including through Medicaid and Title X."
–So there you have it: Joe is as pro-abortion as one can be.

Do you really not know who Senator Edward [Ted] Kennedy is? … so hard to believe …

The Kennedy Clan are Catholic and political powerhouse in American politics

Ted Kennedy was the brother of President John F Kennedy … and Robert Kennedy

He was the Senator from Massachusetts 1962-2009 - Called the Lion of the Senate

In 1969 he killed a woman in an auto accident where is was drunk, left the scene of the accident and failed to notify any authorities of the accident, the woman who was left to drown in the car etc …

He was a divorced and remarried … and was also known as a serial adulterer and womanizer … before and after his divorce. At one time he helped cover and protect a family member who was accused of rape …

He was a confidant and supporter of Bill Clinton in the aftermath of his adulterous affair with the Intern Monica Lewinsky …

Kennedy voted against the bill that would have banned partial birth abortions …so sad that a Catholic cold not even vote in favor of that atrocious procedure. But that explains why Ted Kennedy was a favorite of Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America - they gave him 100% ratings as he did not support pro-Life legislation but always supported the pro-Abortion stance

I’ve known some Americans of Irish descent who abandoned Catholicism for Anglicanism. Sad.

The ones I knew were Ivy-league educated and saw themselves as elites, or more appropriately as “elite-wannabes.” To a person, they were all totally screwed up.
