I doubt I’m voting for Trump this time. Yes, he has done some good things since he took office but he has botched his response to the coronavirus pandemic. Doesn’t help that he shows basically no remorse or empathy for those who have suffered. He just keeps claiming that the virus will magically disappear. He is really clueless and in denial. What good is being pro-life if you’re too incompetent to protect the lives of your own citizens?

I won’t vote for Biden either, however, since a Catholic can’t vote for a pro-choice candidate in good conscience. I’ll either write someone’s name in or just not vote at all.
 
They are doing harm just not physical. Personally I believe you have the right answer but for the wrong reason. The case was the Nationalist Socialist Party of America’s vs Skokie Illinois. Today it would be considered hate speech. However I believe the court was correct just for different reasons. The art of war “know your enemy” . Tough to know them when they are lurking in the shadows. The last time (while anti Semitic was rampant) no one knew of the death camps for years.

Better to have an outspoken terrorist today the a silent killer. Id rather know where the enemy is than not.

Yes and no. We certainly have inalienable rights that are due us from God. But there are other rights that are legal rights granted to us by our government. For example, the government can decide we all have a legal right of freedom of assembly that could go much further than any Gid given tight. Or perhaps a legal right to a high school education would be a better example.

These are better called “permissions”.
 
For starters, I wouldn’t have stood up there talking about how the virus was “just the flu”, bragging about how great a job I was doing, threatening to withhold aid from governors who “weren’t appreciative” of my efforts, dismissing a legitimate question from a reporter about my message to worried Americans as a “nasty question”, etc. I would also place a little more emphasis on what experts say instead of declaring my opinion to be the one that matters most.

I am not saying, by the way, that all of this is Trump’s fault or that all of it could have been prevented. We may have had to do a nationwide lockdown no matter what Trump did or who was President.

But in my view, Trump has not helped the situation. This was his chance to lead and he has failed miserably. Voters will remember that in November I’m afraid.
 
Then you will be voting for someone who does not support Catholic teaching as well as supporting a party who creates victims and dependency.

No because I am not voting for Biden either. I will never vote for pro-choice candidates.
 
Speaking as an outsider, I’m becoming more convinced that the American Solidarity Party is the best option for Catholic voters.

While I’m not going to be voting, I’ll bet my hubby’s next paycheck that Trump will be around for another 4 years. Not that I like Trump but he’s a far cry better than anything the Ds can put up.

You may well be right. Biden is not a strong candidate and neither was Hillary. But in my view, no matter who wins our country is in bad shape for at least another 4 years.
 
Which Catholic teachings does Trump support?

There is a long, long list of Catholic teachings, will be interesting to hear the ones Trump supports.

If a voter doesn’t realize that most any candidate supports some of the teachings of the Church and doesn’t support others, they are sadly misinformed.
