Well, sure…you can complain about it…but it’ll fall on deaf ears.
It does anyway.
Honestly though, you gave up your voice by not utilizing your avenue to be heard.
How so? I didn’t give up anything.
But don’t complain about individuals who are voted into office
I will complain. By not voting, I have all the reason to complain because I didn’t agree with the corrupt system of voting to start out with. I’m on higher moral ground to complain than those who voted. When you voted, you agreed to the outcome. By not voting, I didn’t agree to the outcome. That’s how it works.

Well…not really.

You didn’t vote – thus saying you don’t care who leadership is, or what they do.

 No, no it doesn’t.

By not voting (even at the local level) you’re saying you don’t care what the outcome is. That’s actually how it works…¯_(ツ)_/¯

Ruthann, I am a bit curious - do you really think the votes just aren’t counted? Or what? Who decides who wins in your view?

How do you know what I’m saying? You’re a mind reader?

Again, you know what I’m thinking when I don’t vote? Interesting . . .

By not voting, I’m saying that I disagree with the outcome before the outcome is even determined. It does not say that I don’t care.

Apparently… To me, if an individual does want to be part of a solution and making their voice heard (where it counts)…the voice is being given up and thus “I don’t care”.

So you disagree with every candidate (local to federal) no matter who wins, every school referrendum (weather it passes or not…which is interesting as it’s a Y/N question), street project, community improvement project, etc…? 🤔

I’ve been known to vote on rare occasions (I voted for Ron Paul once) but generally, yes, I disagree with every candidate.

You said the process is corrupt. I’m just curious how you think it’s corrupt, i.e. Where is the corruption?

From city counsel all the way up to the president you don’t ever see a candidate you agree with? Interesting.

Badnarik and Cobb is one example. It’s rigged in favor of the two party system. But there’s a dozen more examples I could give but don’t care to.

Sometimes I do but it’s rare. And honorable folks are usually unelectable.
Even in your city, you must live in some very strange place where there is nobody of “honor” to even vote to your city counsel, school board or mayor.

Well, I don’t live in a City but that’s beside the point … there are honorable people but they are the ones who believe in freedom which is a difficult concept for control freaks to grasp, and people who are pro-freedom usually don’t run because it’s a losing cause. The last person I want having authority over me is the person who seeks authority over me. Honorable people don’t seek for that kind of authority. They don’t promise goodies from the government. They believe in voluntary contracts and relationships. They allow people to make their own decisions as grownups are supposed to do.

Anyway this thread is about why Catholics should vote for Trump and I got a little off track. I won’t be voting for Trump or anyone for that matter.

I don’t vote because I think all/some/any of the candidates are especially honourable.

I vote because I KNOW there is always one that is the least worst, in terms of what their plans are, and THAT is the one that I want to win , given one of them.will get the job and the power that goes with it regardless.

It is very distressing that Americans face such unpalatable alternatives at the upcoming election.

Oh, my! Voting is pretty much the only voice we have left, today. Writing or calling our representatives in Congress, or our Senators, doesn’t seem to do as much good as it once did, because they don’t listen to the people like they once did.
Voting isn’t that effective either.

I agree he’s far better than any president in my lifetime but he’s not wonderful by any means. The bar he tops has not been set very high.
