Are you manufacturing words to put in my mouth? I referenced the great bulk of the countries of the world. I didn’t mention Russia or China.
I meant no offense. But think about this. A significant number of countries cannot be relied on to tell the truth. A greater number probably do not have the resources to even know the truth. If all of the doctors in a particular country are in one or two cities, who is dying of Covid in the countryside? We don’t know because they don’t know.

And as I said, are diagnostic and recordkeeping processes the same even in the first world? I don’t know about Covid, but it’s well known infant mortality is calculated differently in the U.S. and in Europe, which gives the U.S. a higher rate, artificially.

But I realize this is all politicized at present because the Democrats want to say Trump is a fool and killed people. I get that.
Because by the time effective treatment / vaccine is developed, far fewer will have died than otherwise would have been the case.
If Fauci is wrong, then you could be right. And I’m not saying he’s right.

Another way to look at it - are there not many reliable and competent countries who report much lower death rates than the US?

A claim should not be dismissed because a certain group (deemed unreliable) is one of many who make it. I am not located in the US. I can only tell you that the poor response of the US to covid is near universally held and political leanings seem to have only a minimal correlation with that view.

I am an American and with all due respect I don’t care whether the world thinks the US response to COVID is poor - the world includes people who hate the US; and/or hate our leaders; and/or are fed false information about the US; whatever. I freely admit I care nothing at all if someone says “other countries don’t like the US president,” because it’s not the president’s job to help other countries or to be liked by them - it’s his job to help Americans.

ell you what, if George Floyd was already having breathing problems - be it from.fentanyl or for whatever reason - BEFORE a knee
It has come to my attention this is what they were trained to do. Apparently this is safer for those that are on drugs. Someone check this…
Blocking someone’s windpioe is safer? Safer for who? I doubt it is safer for the person it is being done to…

Lily, one of the issues here is that this “knee on neck” restraint was in fact allowed by the Minneapolis PD - in part because the move isn’t inherently dangerous. But that’s different when you are a drug user high on fentanyl (like Floyd) who can’t breathe to begin with. Further, Its now come out that the Hennepin county medical examiner held in May that the cause of death was an overdose but the Hennepin county government basically hid the information until yesterday.

Actually, I believe this was the initial autopsy result, that was then challenged and another asphyxiation autopsy was the newest accepted result.

I’m not sure about that. I’m also not entirely sure you’re wrong.

However, the key to me Is this: considering that the county medical examiner found Floyd had a fatal level of fentanyl in his system, no reasonable jury can convict the cops charged in his death. In fact, in light of this new evidence, I don’t see how the charges can even be pressed - can a jury reasonably find the cops killed this man “beyond a reasonable doubt?”

“Look deeper. They really don’t. They are the party of death and enslavement. They have had 60 years to handle poverty in the US. The poverty rate is higher than when they started. In the 60’s more than 70% of minorities had fathers in the home, it is more like 20% now. Do you realize how much of an impact this has on success”?

Do you realize the impact that systemic racism, discrimination, and White Supremacist ideology has on a people’s ability to create and sustain an intact family?

The guy who did the second autopsy that found asphyxiation, hasn’t he gone after other cases before? And hasn’t his testimony in those other cases been questionable?

But having a president who, admittedly, grabs women by their privates and a first lady that has posed nude is completely acceptable to the church? Having a president who has been married three times is acceptable? A president who gives tax cuts to his friends but raises taxes for the poor? A president who makes fun of women, people of color, the disabled? These things are morally wrong. Please don’t tell me how Catholics should vote.

There’s something to be said for personal responsibility.

White supremacist ideology? What on earth are you taking about??

Systemic racism is a total myth.
Google redlining.
Google Nixon’s Aids quote for why the war on drugs was created.
Take a look at why the black Panthers were disarmed when they abided by rules laid out both in the constitution and gun laws.
When you can explain those things, then as you were.
