The last time we had a balanced budget, under Clinton, the tax rates were appropriate for the amount of spending with some extra going towards paying down some of the debt.
What were those tax rates for the wealthy?

Google is your friend. However it isn’t just about the tax rates, it is also about the spending rates. Two sides to every equation.
Is your position whatever congress wants to spend the wealthy should bear a higher rate?

Again, you need to read what I post. This isn’t rocket science, and I am not typing in a foreign language.

Tax rates. See the plural?

How much of the federal receipts from taxes should the top 5% pay?

10% 30% 50% 80% pick one

Are you trying to suggest that I am a liberal. I can assure you that is far from true.

I will reiterate again. In your lifetime, there has been only one President that has balanced the budget. He was a democrat. So, NEVER has a republican been able to answer your question with actual numbers, since their equation was lop sided and unbalanced.

If you want a low tax rate for the wealthy or anyone else, the only solution is to lower spending. As seen by Trump’s tax cuts, the deficit went up, so his rate was certainly wrong for the amount of money he spent. Top that off with the stimulus which will go unpaid, this year will be probably the year with the single highest increase in the debt we have seen.

Is there some magical rate you can pull out of the air to balance the equation? If so, what is it?

Is this Rand Pauls plan?

I don’t know much about it, but don’t think it addresses what rates should be as much as it addresses how much is actually budgeted for.

2210 The importance of the family for the life and well-being of society13 entails a particular responsibility for society to support and strengthen marriage and the family. Civil authority should consider it a grave duty "to acknowledge the true nature of marriage and the family, to protect and foster them, to safeguard public morality, and promote domestic prosperity."14

2211 The political community has a duty to honor the family, to assist it, and to ensure especially:
  • the freedom to establish a family, have children, and bring them up in keeping with the family’s own moral and religious convictions;
  • the protection of the stability of the marriage bond and the institution of the family;
  • the freedom to profess one’s faith, to hand it on, and raise one’s children in it, with the necessary means and institutions;
  • the right to private property, to free enterprise, to obtain work and housing, and the right to emigrate;
  • in keeping with the country’s institutions, the right to medical care, assistance for the aged, and family benefits;
  • the protection of security and health, especially with respect to dangers like drugs, pornography, alcoholism, etc.;
  • the freedom to form associations with other families and so to have representation before civil authority.15

Are you old enough to understand what happened in Vietnam?
I am 53.

Are you old enough to know that we should never have been in Vietnam? That if Wilson had supported the Vietnamese after WWI they would not have been a French colony and wouldn’t have needed to fight for their independence and become a unified country.

France was in no position in 1919 to go against the US wishes, or demands if we made them at that time.

Are you old enough to know that in both Korea and Vietnam the countries were arbitrarily divided.

Don’t know where you are going with this are you old enough line of questioning, but it has nothing to do with Trump being unfit for office.

Priest is entitled to his own opinions, but not entitled to say the Church says X when it doesn’t.

Well he can, but that doesn’t make him right.
