Why me, you are being deceptive here. Not every LDS that goes to Sacrament Meeting, which lasts for 1 hour, stays for the rest. We may as well include parish council meetings, Sunday School, etc. in the Catholic time span. And we’re comparing Sunday services, LDS don’t have “daily sacrament meeting” like we have “daily mass”. And which “Mass” are you talking about? So I’ll say it again:The lds are there for about 3 hours doing various functions. And mass can last only 40 minutes depending on the homily and especially during the week. Did you see my post above in blue lettering?
**The Mass of Paul VI (the “novus ordo”, the ordinary form, the Mass most in the USA are familiar with) usually lasts about 50-60 mins on Sundays. The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, found in the Eastern Catholic churches, usually lasts about 1hr and 20-30 mins or so. The Tridentine Mass (missa cantata) lasts a similar amount of time. **
I did see your post in blue. Luckily, Christ gave us His Church where we can understand the context of the Old and New Testaments. Otherwise, we can take it all out of context, and think, well, all everyone needs to do, no matter if they follow the Church He founded, is love and be merciful, and they are saved. This all makes sense if we remember that Jesus Christ is at the center of all of this, and so is His Body, the Church.
Comparatively, the Sacrament Meeting lasts 1 hour.
