Sorry, I was just reacting to what the other guy said about how my church is heresy or some crazy thing and how it lacks spirituality because (God forbid) we’re protestant.

The confession taxation thing did happen, I’m not so sure if it was vadicant approved.
I do realize that Catholosism is the true church of Christ. And now that I do, I can see why Catholics see such a problem with protestants. It kinda bugs me now, I wish all protestant religions would unite with the Catholic church.

But as for my outbursts, I was just offended that appearently my puny little poser church doesn’t compare to the high and mighty Catholic church. As though our faith wasn’t real.
I understand, and I figured this was the case. I wouldn’t disregard the inappropriate nature of the post you were responding to. But at the same time, I hope you can appriciate that your post perhaps got a little too hot, and perhaps got to be a little too not based in truth, but rather based more in inflamatory historical inaccuracies which are generally… Just accepted about the Church. It’s unfortunate that we’re in such a state now where a lot of these non-truths are just accepted (I used to accept many of these my self for a long time, after all… I saw it on history channel! (anti-cathlic/christian in general now channel).

But every now and again too, He puts us down so that we can learn to walk. In doing so we stumble and all of a sudden we feel so far away from Him. Gone is that euphoria of being cradled and held aloft in His arms. But the stumbling and ennui are all necessary if we are to grow up and learn to walk with Him.

And yes there will be peace. But a peace that is not the world’s peace (an absence of trial and pain) but a a peace in spite of the trial and pain.

Much like Christ’s peace when He was in the boat and there was a storm. He did not need for the sea to be calm to be at peace, because He was so at one with the Father nothing else mattered.

Jesus will not always calm the storm but we can rest easy because He will always be in our boat if we ask Him.

Amen…Some good preaching bro…May the Lord strengthen and mature you even more that you ever expected in these last days…peace to you…Kim

Thanks very much 🙂 but it’s Sis not Bro.

May you mature in the Lord as well. May God continue shaping you in the image of His Son.

It’s His word in us that the Holy Spirit uses to put us aflame and mature us in the faith
That’s why it is to be hidden in our hearts…It’s our pastors jor to equip us it is our part to mature…
The Holy Spirit is God, last I remember. His presense is what we seek, not some feeling but the tangible presense of God. Its not how we feel or what the feeling we have it is God here now, with us, changing us because we cant change ourselves, God with us to empower us to do the works He has called us to do wo He gets the credit and not us. It is God with us so we can walk with Him and He with us. It is all about God it is nothing about feeling.

Actually, Celtics used to celebrate winter solstice, or the coming of winter. Just spend some time on wikipedia. We’ve already been over all this other stuff.

Is the presence of God tangible?

Very well put.

I very much want to quit the catholic church and become an
Assembly of God member. Am i doomed for hell?

I don’t fit in with the CC, there is no enthusiasm there.
I really don’t see how leaving the CC would get you damned to eternal torments.
But then again I don’t think I can approach this topic 100% unbiased.

This is a false statement "I’ve never heard of a protestant pastor molesting a child! " In the last say 15 years Charlotte NC has had three pastor that have been put in jail for molesting a child

That’s a sickness permeating all areas of life…One of the sad states of man before Christ returns…What saddens me is someone in the higher ups knew and just shuffled the priest’s around…What really saddens me is the betrayal of those who we in trust in to educate our kids to every day…But nothing is out of the sight of God and will be corrected in the end

Sort of like exactly is happening right now in the Jewish Orthodox community? Only this time the press and everyone is advocating that they be allowed to do this?

And the fact that you haven’t even heard of it should be rather telling of the double standard at play when it comes to Catholics. Of course if you search out information on this, you’d find that there has been an ongoing scandal for a number of years (sound familiar) which is being reported in the jewish press, but strangly hasn’t found it’s way to the mainstream press.

Thanks Bro…Sad sad just like II Tim. 3…You know this reminds me about a verse in the end times where what was done in secret is shouted from the rooftops…Come Lord Jesus
Satan is an equal opportunity destroyer…And nobody will be exempt from judgment…

hisalone,
I like your name. 🙂
We are saved by grace, not works. Eph.2;8-9
Jesus saved sinners. All christians are Born Again when thet come to faith.

Titus 3;4-5 reads “But when the kindness and love of God appeared, 5, he saved us, not because ot the righteous things we have done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing and rebirth and by the renewal by the Holy Spirit.”

Works that we do of course, we do out of love for Him. God looks on the heart of man.

God bless,
bluelake

francis,
Why would you think changing your church membership would send you to hell.?
AoG believe in the same Savior as the Catholic church.
Catholics also embrace the charismatic gifts, if that is what your interested in.
The gifts aren’t reconized as enthusiactly as they are in charismatic churches. They can be devisive at times. Especially if they teach speaking in tongues are required to be saved as the Jesus Only folks teach. Do your homework first…
Start with Ralph Martin, he is a charismatic Catholic. 🙂
He can be found on the PC

God bless,

one more thing,
if i hear one more person say MY Lord, Jesus Christ, started the Catholic church, i will PUKE.

its brainwash. all of it. Jesus did not just start a church. He is the head of the church.
people just point at one verse and say "aha! look. Jesus called out Peter and made him the first pope! and said “upon this rock i will build my church”
Jesus addressed more than just one when asking “who do you say i am?”
Peter basically just raised his hand first.
if you would actually seek God’s conviction on what the truth is people, you would see that “the rock”, the foundation of our faith is the confession that Jesus is Messiah and also that we DONT learn from mere books or teachers (also, from man), but from God!
the ROCK is God’s teachings. in the Bible. not the CCC. the Bible with JUST the God-inspired books in it.
plus, Peter wouldve been a terrible Pope. honestly. think for YOURSELVES friends!! seek GOD’s truth!

friends, we HAVE to stop accepting the LIES of priests and pastors who teach untrue things. lest we be condemned along with our false teachers.

p.s. i DO NOT hate Catholics or really even the Catholic Church… i simply hate false teachings and half truths…and brainwashing…and IF the CC falls under that, then so be it.
