Looks like Joe is going to be the first presidential candidate in 80 years to refuse a debate.

In this case, a second one. A live one. The follow-up from the first that was already scheduled.

Biden will say this is on the debate commission. Or on Trump for not going along with a last minute rule CHANGE.

If he really thinks that, drop the debate commission and get another commission.

Or have Joe Rogan moderate which would be much better anyway than Biden-supporters from the FAKE NEWS industrial complex.

I think a lot of the conservatives won’t be surprised at Biden not wanting to debate in person.

Me? I am kind of surprised.

I thought Joe Biden thinks higher of himself and would rationalize that his campaign would be better because of debate.

But his handlers must have given him a dose of reality.

Just a few days ago when Biden (and for that matter, the Debate Comission)
thought Trump was going to be sick for the debate,
Joe was pretend bragging how he is ready for the debate and how town hall formats are his thing.

I knew that was bogus.

But I thought Joe would still go through the live debate anyway.

They will also blame Trump (what else) for them refusing to go along with moving the goalposts.

So now Joe is going to Nevada to give a live talk to people in their cars (maybe they should do a debate in person from their cars??).

Organizers scrap next presidential debate after Trump said he wouldn’t agree to virtual format

Debate chaos: Trump, Biden square off over second faceoff

Trump pulls out of Oct. 15 debate after commission announces it will be virtual; ‘The Five’ react

The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) has canceled the debate planned for next Thursday, after one day earlier announcing the debate would be virtual.

The face-off planned between President Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden was moved to a virtual setting after last Friday the president announced he’d contracted coronavirus.

Trump promptly announced he wouldn’t participate in the virtual format, calling it a “waste of time.”

“It is now apparent there will be no debate on October 15, and the CPD will turn its attention to preparations for the final presidential debate scheduled for October 22,” the CPD said in a statement.

Both candidates have agreed to participate at that debate in-person at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., the commission said. Kristen Welker of NBC News will moderate the matchup.

“I’m not going to do a virtual debate,” Trump told Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo. “I’m not going to waste my time at a virtual debate.”

“They’re trying to protect Biden,” Trump added. “Everybody is.” . . . .

His Dr. said he is cleared to do public events this weekend
His Dr. is more of a PR manager than a doctor. He knows the image that Trump wants to portray and he has been doing everything he can to further that cause.
He also said his goal is to make these drugs available to the general populace
Trump has said so many things that turned out to be untrue that his supposed intention of making these drugs available to the general populace has lost all of its meaning.

He’s working on getting this drug available as of yesterday

What the data shows: Regeneron has only released some preliminary data from one of its late-stage trials in which 275 people received the treatment. It showed that the treatment may reduce viral load and hasten recovery, but it’s not clear whether the drug reduces the risk of death. Eli Lilly, which also is conducting multiple late-stage trials on a similar treatment, has released partial findings from a study showing its therapy may reduce virus levels and possibly help with symptoms.

An early emergency use authorization for antibody treatments could also make it difficult for companies to attract volunteers for clinical trials that could prove whether they work and at what dosage. That has been a concern for ongoing convalescent plasma trials after FDA provided an emergency authorization about six weeks ago.

And, to add, any time the President promises something “by Election Day”, it should be viewed as a blatant attempt to garner votes.

Yet Biden and debate comission still cancelling the debate.

White House Physician: Donald Trump No Longer Risks Transmitting Coronavirus

President Donald Trump’s physician announced Saturday that it was safe for the president to exit quarantine after contracting the coronavirus.

“This evening I am happy to report that in addition to the President meeting CDC criteria for the safe discontinuation of isolation, this morning’s COVID PCR sample demonstrates by currently recognized standards, he is no longer considered a transmission risk to others,” White House physician Dr. Sean Conley announced in a memo released to reporters. . . .

. . . Trump will host a campaign rally in Sanford, Florida, on Monday, October 12.

The heck with the debate comission.

On with the debate without them. Have Joe Rogan moderate it.

.

From a Breitbart Op Ed . . . .
Without discussing it with one of the two presidential campaigns, the corrupt Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) decided the second debate between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden would be a virtual debate.

Of course, the presidential campaign left out of this discussion was the Republican presidential campaign, Trump’s presidential campaign. Even though…

By October 15, the scheduled date of the second debate, Trump would have been many days beyond the 10 to 14 day recommended quarantine period after contracting the coronavirus.

But rather than “listen to the science,” the corrupt CPD decided to aid and abet Joe Biden’s desire to sit on his polling lead and not jeopardize it with a live debate.

Then, as if to prove how truly corrupt they are, the CPD canceled rather than rescheduled the second debate for a later time — you know, a time when the debate could be an in-person with no qualms whatsoever. . . .

Everybody was wrong about some aspects of this virus.

Everybody.

Meanwhile the topic of the thread is not Trump’s microbiologic predictions.

If the thread’s topic is whether Biden will refuse a debate and he in fact did not refuse it, what’s the purpose for the thread’s continued activity?

(name removed by moderator) . . .
Yep so they were, funny how such gracious views are not extended to those like Fauci who altered their advice as new information became available but it is extended to Donald. You might suspect a wee bit of bias if you were cynical.
The problem with that (name removed by moderator), is I was willing to cut Fauci some slack on some issues.

But now the whole puropse of intervention has a CHANGED definition.

What was once “mitigating interventions”
has now morphed into “pandemic-stopping interventions”.

And there is no proof of any of that. Not for Fauci or anybody else.

So several months ago
masks helped “flatten the curve”.

Now people are pretending masks are pandemic-stoppers and calling it “science”.

And there is NO such “science”.

We don’t even have a definition for “masks” yet.

Some things I have cut Fauci some slack on.
Other things, not so much.

I think President Trump should have fired Fauci long ago. I stand by that.

Maybe you differ from that.

Maybe you support President Trump here. I am fine with either way for you.

But of course the issue here is Biden dodging debates and threatening to.

And now he HAS dodged a debate. And a lot of people are not surprised.

You talk about cynical and elsewhere irony.

Where are the bold letters countdowns to the second debate?

FrankFletcher. I am not moving the goalposts.
I affirm Biden showed up at the first debate.

And if you read my posts here,
you will see I was not that surprised by it (I would not have been surprised either way. But I knew it would be “politics” and not “let’s inform the American populace”.

(Everything with the left is politics. Much with President Trump is too, but he ALSO is genuinely improving the country too.
Politics is religion with the national leftists.)

And the leftists cannot try to
“inform the American populace”
because the ideas they have are self-destructive.
At least to the citizens.

So they have settled in with four years of attacking President Trump instead of attempting to help our country.

Now let’s see some countdowns for the second debate.

The moderators are irrelevant as far as
the ability to have the debate (get some new moderators).

Oh I’m used to that gambit, it is why I rarely reply to that particular poster.
Who is “that particular poster” (name removed by moderator) (because you frequently respond to me)?
