Will more woman make it to heaven than men?

I find that though far more women go to Church than men, a much higher percentage of women than men go down the cafeteria route, as men will normally only go to Mass if serious, whereas females will if they are serious, but also are more likely to go now and again just because their family are Catholic. I’ve heard several girls say ‘I know Christianity teaches that sex before marriage is wrong but I do anyway’, but only one guy say the same.

Though at the university Chaplaincy where I used to live I actually found that Sunday Mass was mostly female, but daily Mass was 90% boys as girls were more likely to prioritise studies (then again a lot were medical students)

What did Christ say when they asked for a sign? What did Christ say when they questioned his Authority, and when they questioned that he was the son of God?

I tell you as he told them, you will know his words to be true by what fruit it produces. If you do not read, do not question the authority.

Read atleast 5 chapters, the first five chapters from book 1, and you will know in your conscience them to be from God!

Then go on reading, and grow, and find your way towards Heaven.
The fact is that if it is a private revelation and not dogmatic teaching of the church or official doctrine of the church then the faithfull are not bound to believe it.

It is my understanding that there are now, and for many, many years have been, more women than men. If that is in fact true, my assumption is that there will also be more women in heaven. I see no reason to think that one sex or the other will preferentially get to heaven.

Then are you suggesting that more men will make it to heaven?
Not a bit - ‘multitude’ just means ‘many’, not ‘majority’. I think men and women each have their own particular advantages and their own particular temptations and that it will be even (or roughly even).
Letting your light shine before men is putting it into practice, right? Those who deny Jesus will be denied by Jesus to His Father.
Not necessarily. Doing the corporal and spiritual works of mercy as Jesus bid us is putting the faith into practice. ‘Letting your light shine’ is more like evanglization - linking it publicly to your Christian or Catholic faith. Which is optional (remember Jesus also said ‘when you give, do not let your right hand know what your left is doing, and your father who sees all that is done in secret will reward you’).

I think plenty of men do the works of mercy but adopt more of the ‘your father who sees what is done in secret will reward you’ attitude than the ‘let your light shine’ attitude.

They are not private, because Christ said they would be spread all over the world for people to be Saved, escpecially in the end of days, accepted by some, rejected by others. This was put forward to the Pope, by signs and prophecies, which is why this lead to her being cannonized and the monastery order dictated by Mary put forth first in Sweden, Rome and then all over the world.

If you just read, which you refuse, you will learn from just the first chapter, that Jesus speaks to all, as in the New Testament, and the book of Revelations.

If you want to deny Christ, then do so, it will be on your head. People who know the Spirit of God, can and will testify for you his words being true.

I have read a few threads and posts since I have been a member of this forum, but I truly have to admit, this is probably one of the most outlandish topics I have yet seen. Any way either sex answers, will get up the ire of the opposite sex. And it is an answer known only by God. Any thing else is pure jestful speculation with no way to know the answer and only engender the war of the sexes all over again.

I don’t think more women will make it to heaven. Not if the multitude of canonised male saints is any indication.

True, you may see more women at church. That could easily be simply because men are more likely to be working on Sundays or Holy Days. Women may talk more about their faith, or practice it more openly, but that may be because men are more reluctant to ‘let their light shine before men’ and keep quiet about it, not because they’re less likely to practice.
Thanks for watching our backs Lily. I would have to say I see a pretty even ratio of men and women at church both on Sundays and even some week day masses. Of course, the OP wasn’t asking that. My opinion would still be 50/50… Will error on the side of Deacon Ed on this one too… God does only know.

Didn’t Mary play a unique role in bringing us all back? I’m not sure this point has any bearing on my question.
It was tongue in cheek…😉 Sorry…😊

Anyway, your question has no answer unless God posts to this forum. All other is just speculation…teachccd

I could not agree more…👍

I can’t disagree with any of your perspectives. 🙂

I wouldn’t be surprised if the number of men and woman was roughly the same. However, I would be surprised if men significantly outnumbered woman.

You mentioned how many male canonized Saints there were. The flip side to that is that there are far more male murderers, rapists, and criminals in general.

Though I don’t necessarily see it this way, one might conclude that men have the greater capacity for the best and the worst - essentially the extremes of righteousness and wickedness.

Of course. It’s most certainly speculation.

I agree that this is speculation. However, to suggest that this has to pin one sex against the other presumes participants have a vested interest in proving their sex better than the other. Thus far this has not been the trend in the discussion. I do not see this as a debate for male vs. female; the majority of people here are not that childish.

Yes, only God knows. But the root of the question is an interesting one in my opinion. What is the heart of what we are talking about? Well, there are many things. There are sociological, cultural, psychological, biological, and numerous spiritual realities converging here. If we look at this issue on the surface, frankly, I think it’s a bit silly. If we look at this from some of these issues, perhaps all of us can glean something about ourselves.

This issue doesn’t have to divide. On the contrary, it has the potential to unite and to edify. I have found that some of the posts were quite insightful.

Had you known that this was how I was approaching this topic, perhaps your comments would not have been so abrasive. I consider myself a very reasonable and caring individual. It’s not my goal to promote “outlandish” topics that will “engender the war of the sexes all over again.” 🙂

This is not about a competition. We desire all people to get to heaven. Maybe this discussion can collectively enlighten us in helping to reach that blessed goal.

No, not preferentially, but perhaps by virtue of the possibility that one sex, for one reason or another, happened to walk more closely in God’s friendship. Of course God desires that all people get to heaven; this is our hope too.

IThough I don’t necessarily see it this way, one might conclude that men have the greater capacity for the best and the worst - essentially the extremes of righteousness and wickedness.
I would speculate that this is accurate, though I am only familliar with the burdens men carry. For an informed opinion, one would need to see from both a male and female perspective.

I would be wary of taking any kind of comfort in thinking one is a shoe in for heaven based on ones gender. Could make for a rude awakening.

I would say that it is especially hard for women today to be saved, since many of them are fooled and are following the statutes of demons. None becomes Saved just because they go to Church, you be firstly and only Saved by how you live your life and what Faith you have.

Read chapter 27, book 7 - www.saintbirgitta.com

For them that are to lazy to read, God states, that painting your face for shallowness, and for making other lust at you and for making yourself more beautiful than you where created, will lead to Hell unless this statute of demons be changed.

Also he says, woman and men (this be especially true for woman) that dress in a way that you show of your body (by wearing tight clothes that show of butt or breast), for the reason to make other lust at you, will lead you to Hell unless you change your ways before death and understand your faults and repents.

Also, those that have sex out of lust (not for making children, but for fulfilling the desires of the flesh invented by the devil), this goes for both married and unmarried pople, will receive in eternal reward the poison they so dearly desired.

If you do not believe me, or call me (not my words but God’s) liar, reads his words for yourself and see who you call liar. These words are acknowledged as infallible truth by the Church already, she was canonized as Patron Saint of Europe by John Paul II, she was canonized by the church in the 1300 century also.

You can read about chastity and why it must be kept to enter Heaven here:

www.saintbirgitta.com - book 1, chapter 26
www.saintbirgitta.com - book 1, chapter 9
www.saintbirgitta.com - book 1, chapter 13
www.saintbirgitta.com - book 1, chapter 16
The canonisation of a saint (which is infallible) does not mean all her writings are infallible. Also any messages etc are PRIVATE revelations and not part of the Deposit of Faith meaning they are NOT equal to Holy Scripture and do not have to be believed. You are Dutch Reformed Church so what would you know about infallibilty?

I think it’s interesting that some feel that women are somehow destined for heaven, above men. No one earns heaven, as we all know…Jesus died for everyone–and we are fallen. We are all weak sinners, in need of Jesus’ love, and grace. Equally interesting, is that there is this notion out there that women are somehow more pure, or have less trouble with sin. Women sin just as much as men–our sins may vary, but there are plenty of women who struggle with all types of sin–ranging from sexual in nature, to non sexual in nature. I’m confused why anyone would think women would have an ‘easier chance’ to ‘making’ it to heaven, than men?
