Will not vote for Trump, but no pro-life Democrats?

I find it curious that so many vote on abortion stance alone. I am anti-abortion and pro-life, but there are so many other issues. I don’t understand being a one-issue voter.

In our eyes, the massacre of the innocents by the thousands daily outweighs any other issues. Indeed, I have to question your priorities if you disagree.

Folks, as Catholics we would love more than anything for abortion to go away. My gut feeling is that neither republicans or Democrats have any interest in making it go away. There are too many votes at stake. It will be an issue that will be fought over beyond any of our lifetimes. The Dems will say what they have to to get the pro-choice voters locked down, and the Republicans will do just enough to get the pro-choice vote.

Where have you been the last decade? Nowadays, legislators that don’t deliver on their talk get primaried out of office.

I prefer not to bring my roads with me when I go to work, fire, police, and road repair…I’ll pay the taxes thank you very much.
Doesn’t refute what I said - that taxes are involuntary charity , thus less virtuous than voluntary charity. The mere fact that you voluntarily engage in involuntary charity still means it’s involuntary. “ill pay the taxes thank you ever much” is as silly as saying “I’ll not go to jail thank you very much”. Really going out on a limb! You have to pay them. Hence it’s like saying “I’ll breathe thank you very much!” and then expecting credit

Really?

So, you would be okay with people not having access to proper healthcare which in the long run kills them?

Are you sure you’re pro-life?

In a choice between healthcare and outlawing abortion, I choose to outlaw abortion. If anyone needs assistance paying for healthcare, let them ask. Furthermore, as you noted, “lack of health care” is a long-term risk, while children are being massacred by the thousands every single day under color of law and pretext of health care. If that is the health care you would have us provide, good riddance!

I was once without healthcare because I stayed home to care for my ex-wife who has multiple sclerosis. I didn’t qualify for medicaid because my ex-wife through her disability made too much for me to qualify. That left me without health insurance.

People can ask all they want, it doesn’t mean they are going to get it.

Again I ask, are you sure you’re pro-life? Because as far as I am concerned being pro-life means the life of everyone, not just aborted babies.

Edit: I guess I have my answer. You are truly not pro-life.

Yes, I’m sure I’m pro-life. I can’t say the same about you. Don’t confuse my priorities in government for my personal charitably.

If you were pro-life, you would care about all people. Not just babies. You would care about those with no or little access to healthcare because whether it kills them now or later, it is still killing them without it.

As I have said before, vote what your conscience is telling you to vote and I will do the same.

I do care about them, and I do give alms. I just don’t think deficiencies in the health care system outweigh 3000 dead babies per day, nor do I think proper health care can be provided by a government that approves of such an atrocity.

I’ve never understood how Obamacare was ever considered proper health cate. For me it would cost $22k for premiums and another $12k to meet our deductibles before insurance kicks in. This is for just my wife and I. We would also have had to find new doctors since none of mine took Obamacare.

I’m not saying it’s not. I’m saying no one is stopping it and I doubt anyone will. The women who get these abortions always have more control over it than politicians.

He has also said very vile things. Claimed to be a Christian but said he doesn’t need forgiveness. He supports death penalty for drug dealers. May I remind you of this quote directed at Pope Francis?

“For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful,” Trump added. “I am proud to be a Christian and as President I will not allow Christianity to be consistently attacked and weakened, unlike what is happening now, with our current President. No leader, especially a religious leader, should have the right to question another man’s religion or faith. They are using the Pope as a pawn.”

Being pro life does not make up for being weak in every other issue.

No one is outlawing abortion. Let’s just say they do, are we going to all fold our clothes so we can outlaw coat hangers as well? People will always find a way.

Trump knows how to manipulate people to get votes. I cannot prove he is not “pro-life” but I have plenty of reasons to think that he probably doesn’t really care. Although I understand why people would vote for a President that will appoint judges who support issues they are in favor of, it seems irresponsible. However in reality, it most likely exposes the flaws in our system of government that need to be shored up. The two party system is problematic and the lack term limits of the judges also needs to be looked at.

Trump is the biggest danger to America that we have seen in quite some time. The only silver lining I see is that he is testing the bounds of our government against a narcissistic, dictator-style President. It is holding up fairly well, considering.

Added: He supports the Republican agenda because it is the best for his bottom line.

I see no path that making abortion illegal will reduce numbers. There are much better ways, which begin with reducing the “need” for it in the first place.
