I know – I’m a bit more familiar with the Canadian system than most Americans, having married into a Canadian family, with whom I spend a fair amount of time. They live in a fairly remote and not especially affluent part of Canada, and have had medical issues that would have utterly destroyed an American family in similar circumstances. They’re fortunate to have been able to get the care they got – they never could have gotten it in the US.
 
This is what blows me away. If you support his policies…fine. But to pretend he’s anything other than an immoral sleaze is beyond me… practicing Catholics defend his man?
Policies? Sure… but defending THIS man and his lifestyle? Just baffling.

I wish I did! LOL I had some broken teeth due to being hit by a truck. I have three implants so far, at a cost of $21,000, and I probably will need three more on the bottom. Thank goodness for dental insurance, which does save me quite a lot. (This is private insurance, so it pays for more, but I still pay a whopping bill.)

That’s what I don’t get, either. How can a practicing Catholic defend Trump, the man and his lifestyle?

I’ve been accused of hating Trump because I heartily dislike him as president. I don’t hate Trump, the man. I disapprove of his immorality, his lifestyle, but I recognize he’s a (wayward) child of God, and I don’t hate him. I do, however, dislike him as president even though I agree with some of his policies. I think chain migration needs to end, for example. An immigrant should be able to bring a spouse and minor children here, but not siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, etc. They should have to immigrate on their own merit. But to hold up DACA and say Repubs will vote for it IF he gets funding for his wall, etc. is not right. That proves business deals do not translate well into politics. Mostly, I do not want him as president because he is a serial liar. We all make a miscalculation now and then, I’m willing to give him that, but most people don’t lie and mislead daily. His latest shenanigan is to say he’d LOVE to speak to Mueller IF his lawyers approve, and he knows they don’t and won’t. No self-respecting attorney would. If Mueller really wants to talk to him, I guess he’ll have to get a subpoena since he has that power.

I also disagree that the US should only allow highly-skilled workers to immigrate. I live in California. Immigrants work on our farms, in our restaurants, etc., and they are happy to do jobs most Americans would not do. Much of our economy depends on migrant workers.

Sure, past presidents have had affairs and have been less-than-morally-upstanding, but I think Trump is the worst, and it affects how the US is seen by the rest of the world. I wish Trump wouldn’t go on Twitter rants. It creates a written record of his lies the world can read.

Just so people don’t accuse me of wanting HRC as president, I don’t care for her, either, and I didn’t vote for her. I think she, too, lies, and I don’t feel all is on the up and up with the Clinton Foundation.

The alternative was Hillary Rodham Clinton with Huma Abedin. WITH Obama’s 2% growth and Russian Uranium One payola.

Thanks be to God, she was / they were defeated.

Canada does have a 2 tier system. The 2nd tier is the US. Lots of Canadian abandon their system every year get treated in the States.

Got any numbers on that? How many Canadians seek medical treatment in the US? For what? Essential medical care, elective care, cosmetic procedures?

Also, how many Americans seek treatment abroad, in, for example, Thailand or India?

You are the one claiming FDR committed the act of lie. Keeping a Secret is not committing a lie. Is it? Marking documents as “Secret” and keeping that information from the public, is that an act of lie?

I would say that his disability was kept secret from the public in the interest of “National Security” We would not want our foreign enemies to get confirmed word that the leader of the free world was in a weakened status.

That is inconclusive information.
Lucy Mercer wiki page says it is likely it started in mid 1916. There is no actual evidence.
Eleanor’s final child was born March 13th, 1916.
There is only 19% chance that the affair started before the child was born.
There is a 81% chance the affair started after the child was born.
So your “pretty likely” scenario smells like fertilizer.

At the time of FDR’s candidacy, he wasn’t the “leader of the free world”. It would seem withholding pertinent information about a Presidential candidate’s health is lying by omission. But, I guess that means all the speculation about Trump’s diminished cognizance is something you’d like to see stopped, in the name of “national security”.

If depends on which Clinton you’re talking about. I don’t think Hillary supporters were at all willing to acknowledge her obvious faults If they had been she would have never gotten the nomination. I mean, come on, she got beat by Trump, a sociopathic Narcissist with Alzheimer’s.

That is already being done.

Let’s say you have BCBS. You pay premiums to BCBS. Your premiums all go into one pool ( bank account )

Your specific plan may not pay for contraceptives or even abortions, but BCBS as a whole does pay for someone’s else’s contraceptives or even abortions.

We have BCBSAL.
Premiums are ~ 600 a month thru work. Contraceptives and abortions are paid.
At my church Premiums are ~1200 in order for some ideal notion that it will not cover Contraceptives and Abortions.

Why the price difference? Economics 101. It is cheaper to abort a child or prevent a child than to pay for the:
  1. Prenatal Care of said child
  2. Delivery of said child
  3. 26 years of medical care of said child.
Yet that 1200 is going into the same pool as the 600 which pays for contraceptives and abortions.

What the Religious goobers don’t quite understand? THEY ARE STILL PAYING FOR CONTRACEPTIVES AND ABORTIONS.
