16 Yr old daughter is sexually active

At this point it’s looking like drug rehab will be a consideration. If they can get a diagnosis and she participates in psychotherapy there might be hope.

However, at the end of the day, after everything I’ve personally witnessed, she will probably require medication to treat the underlying condition.
 
I totally agree with you on that. Drugs are a serious illness along with suicide involved. If you give her one inch of leverage or space she will take it and make the worst out of it. It may seem very harsh to do that but it is for her own good.
 
You should honestly have her sit down at the blessed sacrament with you and your wife. Pray the rosary, Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and whatever prayers you have in heart for her.

She talks about this around her folks at age 16? Hoo boy. Not good. Will pray for you.

She may be sort of hoping you will step up and stop her though. Most teens aren’t so open about their drug use unless the parent uses also.

First thing is to get her suicidal issues dealt with. You can’t ignore it, you cant brush it off, you can’t deal out other punishment etc at this point.

You and your wife must work with professionals to deal with this
 
There is nothing the Lord Jesus Christ can’t do! Have faith and visit him in the Blessed sacrament! We all do not do this enough!
 
the daughter is probably an atheist if she’s doing all those drugs and having sex, why would going to adoration help if she has no faith?
 
Like i said the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ is truly there! Also if she is is an atheist that does not matter, you can be the worst sinner in the world and still visit Jesus. Our God Laughs at foolish atheist as i once was myself.
 
The power of the blessed sacrament is beyond measure along with praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy
 
Our Lord can pierce right through some of the most hardened and stubborn hearts

You’re making assumptions now. You have no reason to believe she is an atheist. Approximately 50% of high schoolers have sex before graduation (possibly more). That number goes up significantly once kids are in college. Simply put, faith is often not the first priority in our culture, and many Christians use drugs and have sex outside of marriage.

That being said, I doubt she will be open to going to adoration, praying the rosary, etc., but her dad knows her best!

Talk to her, foster your relationship with her, see if you can get her to come away with you for quality time. Love conquers all!
 
Hey it’s not about if she wants to go it is about getting her there and just being in silence in front of our Lord. It will work wonders there is nothing of this world that is like visiting jesus in the Blessed sacrament

I think your sentiment is great! I just think the dad should consider whether that is a viable option. If the daughter were open to it, then it might help. However, as a teacher of teenagers, I am not certain whether that would be taken with any degree of seriousness.
 
God has also blessed us with qualified professionals and the proper judgment to utilize them.

Dragging someone in a compromised mental state to Adoration will not solve every problem.
 
You have no right to give this advice to the op. You have no professional understanding of this case
