Praying for:
  1. the soul of George Tiller
  2. his family and friends
  3. the soul of the shooter
  4. the unborn
  5. the pro-life movement
To this I would add:
6) for the conversion of pro-choice activists
7) for the conversion of Obama
8) for the conversion of women who would have an abortion
9) for the conversion of the men that got them pregnant…

Having read 400 posts in this thread, and leaving one myself, I must say I am stunned by what I’ve seen here.

I thank those very few who spoke up with the truth of the Catholic Church. 👍 (Looking your way Robert)

Having read this website for a long time, it just struck me that this is probably the same stuff we would see if someone assassinated our President:( Or speaker of the House:(

Not trying to start a fight - just trying to make y’all think.

That’s right - I said “y’all”
Thank you Max,I agree with you. If these 400 posts were prayer’s for All involved it would be most pleasing to our Lord. I do believe all here know this to be true.

GENERAL REMINDER

CAF rules absolutely prohibit posts that advocate violence. Since the forums are quite active now, it is possible that moderators might miss such posts. If you see them, here or elsewhere, report them at once and a moderator will take action.

God bless,

I encourage everyone that is angry to pray the Rosary. Not only will it help you deal with the anger and anxieties felt over this subject, it will do much to helping us solve the problems caused by abortion.

Remember the bumper sticker that reads:

“Angry? Need a weapon? Try praying the Rosary!”

Thank you to everyone (including our moderator Robert Bay) for helping to curb hostilities by not advocating violence and standing up for what is right.

You can call the action murder. You can call the person a murderer if you want.

But to say that he was lucky not to have been torn apart is very contrary to the Gospel. The woman caught in adultery was also lucky that Christ came along.

Fraternally,

Br. JR, OSF 🙂

**THE POLITICS OF TILLER’S DEATH
**
June 1, 2009

Catholic League president Bill Donohue commented on the death of Dr. George Tiller:

The Catholic League unequivocally condemns the killing of serial killer, Dr. George Tiller. As I said on the CBS Evening News, “We have to get the message out that life means we have to respect all life, including somebody as bad as Dr. Tiller was.” Unfortunately, his death has already occasioned a highly political response from his allies.

From what we know of the suspect, Scott Roeder, the ex-con fits the profile of a deranged man. Yet there are those who are already trying to pin the blame on others. Andrew Sullivan and the Daily Kos have fingered Bill O’Reilly and are running a video of O’Reilly’s past denunciations of Tiller. Worse than this irresponsible accusation is the hypocrisy of the Daily Kos: above the O’Reilly video is an advertisement for an upcoming interview on C-Span2 with Bill Ayers, the urban terrorist who is a hero in some left-wing circles.

Others are busy collectivizing the guilt. Kim Gandy, president of the National Organization for Women, refers to “those who are behind this murder,” suggesting that this is part of a pro-life cabal. Vicki Saporta, president of the National Abortion Federation, also blames “individuals” for Tiller’s death. Similarly, Dr. Warren Hern, a late-term abortionist from Colorado, said Tiller’s death was the result of “a fascist movement in this country.”

Perhaps the ultimate politicization is the decision by U.S. Attorney Eric Holder ordering federal marshals to protect “other appropriate people and facilities around the nation.” Thus does Holder feed the frenzy of the pro-abortion industry that what happened to Tiller is the work of the pro-life community. We will closely monitor these developments.

May God have mercy on his soul; and may God have mercy on the individual who shot and killed him. 😦

You do not fight one evil… with another evil. :nope: This act goes against everything which Our Lord, Jesus Christ taught us. The person who did this… was NOT acting in the name of the “Pro-Life” movement.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for your children in the United States.
What if Tiller could have been convinced down the road? People like Ms Roe was turned away from abortion by hearing the voice of the Lord. Tiller was robbed of that chance to hear the Lord by a religious lugnut. The shooter was very pro-life and vocal. Unfortuneatly the retoric has gotten violent and this should not be too much of a suprise. What does this say to the pro life camp and the people associated with it?

What I worry about is the reaction and not just about how it diminishes the pro-life movement as a bunch of religious nuts. I worry about the reaction to every action. What if there is an unbalanced church goer who thinks he can clean the church by removing priests who have been accused of pedophilia? This is more than possible. Can you see the meltdown of lawlessness? Something to think about.

Bill O’Reilly responsible? Are you kidding me? 🤷
That’s a stretch. I went to the March for Life this year, am I responsible? Are the 300,000 other peaceful protesters also responsible? The pro-abortion movement will capitalize on this murder.

The pro-abortion movement will capitalize on this murder.
yes, and they will use it to fuel their bloodlust so they can continue to murder thousands of children everyday.

All Bill OReilly did was expose Tiller as the killer of unborn babies he was. God Bless Mr. OReilly for those stories.

Tiller’s “friend” Carhart is going to take over his mill.

In comments he made (in his outrage) He called anti abortion activists terrorists and compared them to the Taliban and Al-Qaida!:eek::eek::eek::eek::mad::(:(:crying:

Has anyone else seen this website dr-tiller.com/biography.htm? It is not affiliated with George Tiller but it has detailed information about him and also information from him and his website.
I was just looking through that website. Thanks for the link. It’s chilling. He looks so normal, but then you realize people like Dahmer and Bundy looked normal, too. I can’t help but wonder if someone like this, who called late term abortion his “calling”, had sublimation of serial killer tendencies. I’m not kidding. In psychology, sublimation is the channeling of unwanted impulses into something “positive”… Well, in this case, “legal”. He just really, REALLY seemed to enjoy aborting babies it seems, when you look at his background. That website is an eye-opener.

EDIT: I just read this on that site -

After the dead babies are born, the woman is given the option to cuddle her dead baby and have their picture taken together. This is just one of the many “stillborn activities” that Tiller offers to the mother.

No, it is not. The person who made this first post has taken no action at all so there is no logical first step. Also, she mad no justification for the action but only expressed here feelings. If we read in the news today that Obama was killed by one of his men for some reason, it would not be an endorsement of murder to because we were glad that an evil man had been finally stopped from commiting more atrocities. Yes, the act of murder was intrinsically evil. Yes, it can never be justified. But when evil battles evil it is good to see the worst side lose.
Huh??? Of course it’s the next logical step. When the law becomes subjective and applicable by people outside of law enforcement, who’s to tell the pro-abortionists that they can’t pre-emptively kill pro-lifers (since they have reason to believe their lives are in danger after this) with the same “self-defense” rationalization?

Don’t forget what Thomas More warned about overthrowing the law, even for a perceived good - once that law is gone, you, who think that so much good can come of this, will have no law to hide behind when they come for you.

For anyone to justify or revel in this on any level is beyond disturbing. It’s ghoulish and primitive. We’re above that.

Carhart is full of beans (I can’t use the other word), or he’s a complete paranoid lunatic! If the pro-life movement really was that way, he wouldn’t be able to walk down the street: let alone make these comments. The fact that Carhart and Tiller have been around so long is testimony to the fact that the Pro-life movement is peaceful. Carhart’s righteous indignation is phony rhetoric.

Enough of this could’ve, would’ve. Tiller wasn’t robbed of any chance. He didn’t need it was more like it.

What’s done is done. If it wasn’t time for Tiller to checkout, God would not allow his death. Nothing that was done that was not allowed by God. He would know if the heart is capable of changing. Even you living 'til this day is because God allows you to.

Then why does God allow abortions? Is it just time for them to “checkout”, too?

True, but the person who shot Tiller didn’t know the will of God or what God knew about Tiller’s capability or incapability of changing. Vengeance belongs to God and not the shooter.

I think this is what many people are trying to say. They are simply trying to point out that the shooters actions were not justified… even though God intended to call Tiller up for judgment.

Perhaps it would be better to say the gunman presumed on God’s rights over life and death… instead of saying that Tiller was robbed of the chance of repentance.

It was Tiller’s time to pass away, no doubt. I don’t know what the alternative to what happened could have been, but the shooter was also given a choice by God and wasn’t just a automaton designed to bring tiller to justice.

People somehow know that God intended to call Tiller up for judgment?

You know this how?

Can’t we apply this logic to every abortion and say it was “just their time”, since God didn’t stop the abortion from occuring?
