I wonder if he’s going to become the “Ernst vom Rath” of the pro-abortion movement.
In early November 1938 Germany expelled all Polish Jews from the Reich. Many, including those who had given up Polish citizenship, were refused admittance into Poland and were held at refugee camps along the border. Conditions were very bad there. Herschel Grynszpan, a 17-year-old Polish Jew living in Paris, was so upset at the treatment of his parents at their refugee camp, he took a pistol to the German embassy in Paris and shot Ernst vom Rath, the embassy official assigned to help him. Vom Rath died two days later, on the anniversary of the Beer Hall Putsch.
Nazi officials used this as an excuse to rouse up the people against the evils of “World Jewry”, and the result was Kristallnacht. So many shop windows (owned by Jewish shop owners) were broken the streets glittered like crystal, ergo the name. Over 200 synagogues were destroyed too. The Reichs ministers blamed it on the natural outpouring of German anger over the assassination of vom Rath.
The insurance claims on the vandalized shops threatened to bankrupt the German insurance industry, so the German government fined the Jewish community for the damage and started working on a “final solution” for the Jewish Problem.
The next few days will be interesting…
