Don’t get it? My wife was a principal in an alternatives-to-abortion facility in Little Rock for years two decades ago, I spent many a Saturday in front of a local abortionist’s office praying and trying to convince the women going in there to reconsider - and a fair number did.

WE never waved pictures of aborted children around - NEVER. There was the dignity of the children to be considered. I have no use for anti-abortion folks who would exploit those children that way. Ends justifing the means, that’s all it is. Unconscionable!! 😦
FYI, I’ve never used the photos in my prolife work either.
If others choose to do so - that’s fine with me.

Forty-plus years of endless killing? Way too long for me.

No. What I’m really saying is what Father Pavone says:
(paraphrase)

THIS NATION WILL NOT END ABORTION UNTIL IT SEES ABORTION.

I’ve been active in prolife work for 40+ years.
This action, showing the carnage, is a helpful one.
And you’re still saying “the ends justify the means”. Ending abortion is a great ends and I pray that it will one day happen, but that doesn’t mean you can use any means. There are no exceptions. None. Not even to end abortion.

Absolutely not.

The museum that uses dead human bodies to “show” anatomy?
That is unacceptable.

Showing the effects of abortion on babies?
Perfectly acceptable.
It does not need to be justified,
It is a present-day fact.

The purpose of the skeletons in the museums is not to horrify.

I’m glad that you are not one who uses those undiginified pictures in pro-life work, Catharina, because IMO, those who would use pictures of aborted children or have them in jars pickled to “further the pro-life cause” are ghouls, plain and simple. 😦

I’m not talking about skeltons.
I’m talking about human bodies,
with selective dissections to show muscle mass,
disease processes, etc…

Here is ONE link among many:

IMO, horrible and indefensible.

Have you even read this thread?

IMO, fine as your opinion. I have no personal opinion on that anatomy display.

My opinion, however, is that those picture wavers are ghouls.

In usual circumsatnces, victims who
are still alive do give consent.

However in other situations like war itself,
the dead/slaughtered/murdered are much
in evidence in the media from newspapers to TV.
Only with the permission of the relatives. Remember the thousands of photos from World War 1 that could never be published, because they forgot to ask permission from the relatives, or the relatives could not be found?

Permission is always needed.
Photojournalism exists to show reality to those who
are not there - but who need to know what occurs.
Yes - and there are very strict protocols about what can be published. You can’t just randomly take pictures of people, living or dead, and publish them without consent.
Not sure what went on in Canada (or what goes on
there now) but most certainly, I know that during the
war in Vietnam came into our homes every night
here in the USA. Dead, mangled bodies of both
troops and civilans were viewed by all. It might
be said that photojournalism helped end that war.
And don’t forget that you knew the names of every person photographed - because permission had been obtained. Again, they didn’t just randomly go in there with cameras and start photographing people.
None of these victims of war signed waivers for such
pics to be used
Yes, they did. That’s how you knew their names, at the time, and afterwards.

Ahhhhhhhh. Fascinating.

Those who use dead bodies to “display for profit” are OK people.
Those who show slaughtered infants to raise awareness are “ghouls.”

No offense but, bye bye, Rich.
Your thinking is incomprehensible to me.

Nope. Many were and are unnamed.
You’re fooling yourself thinking otherwise.
Such photos have been widely used since WWII.

Yes - and the Bishops have also told us that we are not to attend or support these displays, either - for exactly the same reasons. Dignity of the human person, and the proper, dignified treatment of human remains.

I have taken courses in photography and photojournalism. Rule #1, which they drill into you over and over and over again, is, you must obtain consent to publish photos of any person, living or dead. And without consent, they cannot be published. You will go to jail.

Well, guess that’s Canada.
USA generations have been raised on photos of WAR.

It’s also the USA. You knew the names of all those kids who were photographed in Vietnam - I know you did, because it’s easy enough to look them up, even today. But this is still just a red herring. There is no equivalency between reporting on a war, and gratuitously photographing dead babies to parade them around in front of day cares and kindergartens.

Yes, those people are ghouls, insensitive exploiters of tragedy.
And, to be sure, I am not offended at all at your position on the topic. You are not one of those people.

What is incomprehensible to me is the idea that some accept that the ends always justify the means. 🤷

Terrific. FIND those names for me.
One little girl was identified.
She is well-known unto today.

The others, slaughtered?
FIND THOSE NAMES FOR ME.
Hint: those names don’t exist.

(BTW, who mentioned day care centers and kindergartens?
When was that thrown into the mix???)

The red herring is yours.

Where oh where did this come from?
Please read the title 🙂

BTW for the legalize …,🙂

Mothers do give permission to the abortion providers … COMPLETE permission…including but not limited to disposal of the babys bodies.

Apparently there is a new book out - Eddie Adams: Vietnam. I am sure the names are listed there, or at least the chiefs of the villages who would have allowed him in to photograph what was going on. I’ll do a more thorough search myself later on. 🙂

But again, war reporting is not at all similar to what’s going on here.
(BTW, who mentioned day care centers and kindergartens?
That’s where the panel trucks go.

Follow them and watch - they drive up and down, up and down, all the day long, in front of kindergartens and daycares. In the summer time they go to play parks, and they hang out in the parking lot outside of the children’s area at the Stampede.

Follow them and watch where they go - you’ll see that I’m right.
