Thank you @Edmundus 1581 for your kind words. Indeed, the daily poetic musings of @christofirst are a daily inspiration, and help me to continue to grow in my faith.
God bless!
God bless!
A year ago I had my throat blessed on this feast day. I had been suffering from frequent laryngitis for about 18 months. I haven’t had any throat problems since then, except for symptoms from the occasional cold. I am so overwhelmed with God’s healing touch! For this 248th post, we raise,
Our thoughts to the bishop and martyr, Saint Blaise,
Who was waiting in prison, his fate well known,
When a lad started choking on a fish’s bone,
And using two candles his mom did procure,
St. Blaise saved his life: a miraculous cure!
So today we interrupt his Heavenly rest,
By asking his prayers and having throats blessed.
As a singer with an aging and often dry throat, I should be praying for St Blaise’s intercession, and next year should make a point of attending the blessing of throats Mass (Feb 11).His patronages are numerous, including against throat disease. In this time of year when sore throats abound, he should be quite busy answering our prayers.
Have a blessed day!
In the monastery, the sisters always said that God heard her prayer because she loved Him more! When a storm broke out so that he could not leave she told him that although he would not listen God did.
