This 268th post will tell,
Of the monk of Melrose, Saint Boisil,
Under good St. Aidan of Ireland he trained,
Then fame as a scholar and preacher he gained,
And he was made abbot of the monastery,
Until death from the plague set him free,
To gain his Heavenly reward,
Life eternal with Our Lord.
Saint Boisil’s bio shows that he had a number of friends who were also Saints. He had people around him who shared his values, whom he helped to lift up and who in turn lifted him up. May we be as fortunate to have people around us who are helping us to achieve Heaven, and may we help those around us to do the same.
This 269th post will tell,
Of Blessed Robert of Arbissel,
In Brittany, this gifted preacher,
Spread reform, and was a teacher,
Then a hermit he became,
Folks came to him all the same,
And so, for the glory of God,
He founded the Abbey of Fontevraud,
Where monks and nuns could go and pray,
Remember Blessed Robert today,
Blessed Robert sought to help bring others to repentance and conversion, putting them on the path to eternal salvation. What a wonderful legacy. May we all do the things which will result in us being remembered as well.
