Please explain any comment you may have. A headline from some obscure media outlet is not enough.

Just had to drop this off. Im done posting at Catholic Answers. If I keep reading posts here I would probably end up leaving the Church. This is why when you’re in Church you don’t see black people. Maybe one or two depending where you’re but that’s it. Thanks for the posters here who somehow manage to keep posting and try to shed some light. As for me I can’t do it. It will literally lead me to joining a place of worship where there is actually black people and not the attitudes I commonly run into here. Stay safe. Peace. Mods please delete my account if possible.

You must not live in an area with many minorities. Try visiting a Detroit parish sometime before you judge.
 
I’m in Cali. And there are some black people in my parish. But probably wouldn’t be for long if they read threads like this or watched videos like Timothy Gordon put out today. Who btw does podcasts with Trent Horn. Great job Trent. This video is sick in how he talks of the victims and justifies their murders. Disturbing.

Nothing to do with political reasons. It’s about human dignity reasons for all my black brothers and sisters. And that it’s disturbingly lacking at places like here and by people like Tim Gordon. Watch this video and listen how he talks about the victims and justifies their murders. I want nothing to do with this.

Yeah, no. It’s political. You’d leave the Church Christ instituted because the color of skin doesn’t match your ideal. Give me a break.
 
I’m not sure what’s expected here, but can we not all agree that what happened to Floyd is a grave immoral injustice that needs to be rectified but that the riots that are now ripping through cities bringing chaos and destruction is not a legitimate CATHOLIC RESPONSE???

I think we can, Josie, but I still think some of the facts are not known at this point. I’m inclined to think that Chauvin killed Floyd by kneeling on his neck, or at least that the kneeling triggered a bad response due to other factors. But I am not persuaded it’s because of racism, not yet at least. And I sure am not persuaded that this somehow means all cops are racist or that the country is.
 
Don’t know what’s going on but having been gone for awhile I have noticed a lot more uncharitability, even gas lighting of individuals who do not conform to another’s way of thinking no matter how minute the differences are.
 
Oh it’s gotten bad. I realized today that rather than leaving the forum because of how toxic it’s become, I’ll just start putting people on ignore. It’s helped already.

In the past few days I’ve been accused of wanting segregation back and also thinking that blacks are inferior, and not caring about George Floyd dying… From now on, on ignore they go,
 
Ridgerunner, whether the motive was or wasn’t racially motivated we should still be able to agree that what that cop did was a miscarriage of justice that led to a man’s death and it deserves punishment of some kind, hopefully, incarceration!
