That’s a good idea, but the m-16 is kind of bulky for me…i need something at my hip.

I want to do el Camino De Santiago someday. And no, I have never hunted pigs, nor cast pearls before them 😉

Yeah it is. I have actually never been to the north of Spain other than Barcelona.

Sad reading.

Eternal rest grant unto Timothy Treadwell and Amie Huguenard, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.

Amen.

One of the most enjoyable walks I went on was through the Samaria Gorge which is situated in the Samaria National Park. It is only open in the summer months, weather dependent.

The walk through the gorge is 16 km long. It starts at Xyloskalo and continues down through the ruins of an an abandoned village called Samaria, a stone church of small church of Agios Nikolaos. Lots of Kri Kri to be seen through-out the gorge. The final stage of the walk is through the Sideroportes which is the narrowest part of the gorge at 3 meters wide.

The walk ends at the small village of Agia Roumeli and the cool wind off the Libyan sea. After finishing the walk we ate at a local taverna and swam in the cool clear sea. Then took the ferry

Yes, I have been on the Camino. I started in Einsiedeln, Switzerland. So I did extra.

I would really encourage anyone who is intrigued by it to go and walk. The first week or so are a bit tough, we are not used to walking that much nowadays. It is really beautiful, in so many ways, the nature, the churches, the people…

Also, there is a missionary chance there. A lot of people go on looking for something, mostly undefined, but there are many chances to point people to Jesus.

Kind of a strange looking elk. He musta had his antlers broken off in a squabble.

Yep, Roughly 1500 miles. It took about 70 days, including two rest days.

Here is my favorite hike. Once, I started too late in the day and had forgotten to bring my head lamp. Won’t do that again!

@Curious11…Horay, it’s even in Spain!! Enjoy. Be safe. 🙂

A hike, (especially a short one) is very contemplative. It gives people a chance to reflect on their life, God, and everything else under the sun…Personally though I find long hikes make me think more along the line of “are we there yet”.

The only time i ever go to Andalucía in in summer when it’s too hot, otherwise I would have done that hike. In any case I’ve been to the canals near there and they’re pretty cool

I never hike alone.Jesus is always with me. He put the awe in the awesome beauty he allows me to experience with
each Vista he created for me to discover with him. When I pause My heart always says WoW God!
I don’t just like to hike I need to hike.
