Good morning, tqualey,Hi, DonSnow,
For what it is worth … the weather is nice here in Houston … but, we are still in the midst of a terrible drought.
Now, one last suggestion: please see your doctor BEFORE getting a flu shot. With the potential for complication related to an existing respiratory problem - it would be prudent to have the doc look you over first and then disucss getting a flu shot at this time. Nothing is ever simple … and developing a poltentially avoidable health related complications as we approach winter is something to consider.
On to the topic …I have no idea where these bishops are going with supporting Archbishop Dolan - but, maybe they have some kind of ‘osmosis’ factor that they are trying to get to work!
According to this source, almost 40% of Catholics approve of Obama’s policies. Check this out:
Family Research Council Action president Tony Perkins says he doesn’t think the new director will have any luck reaching pro-life advocates who are upset that Obama has repeatedly promoted abortion, forced them to pay for abortions or funding pro-abortion organizations in multiple circumstances, or cozied up with leaders of pro-abortion groups like NARAL and Planned Parenthood.
“A Barna Research Survey conducted earlier this year shows that President Obama has a 6 percent favorability rating among evangelicals. A more recent Quinnipiac survey reports that the President has a 39 percent favorability rating among Catholics,” Perkins said. “The DNC and the President may hope this effort will reverse his falling poll numbers among religious voters, but I predict that as the fruit of this administration is examined by Christian voters, the President will find little support.”
“The President’s policies that promote abortion also undermine family formation,” Perkins added.
“Abortion does this by contributing to infant mortality, victimizing women, and encouraging the abdication of responsibility by men. He has issued executive orders to fund foreign abortion organizations and use tax dollars for experimentation on human embryos. He is even opposed to commonsense parental notification laws. These laws reaffirm the unique role that a mother and father have in the life of a child,” the FRC leader continued. lifenews.com/2011/10/20/pro-lifers-obama-religious-outreach-cant-hide-abortion-record/
This tells me that the bishops need to do something.
God bless
I have never understood how any Catholic could vote a ticket that supported abortion, mocking of traditional marriage and restriction of Constitutional gun rights.
I can see where each major party enacts its respective different godly views, along with a lot of the ungodly.
That ungodly is why I am now an unaffiliated registered voter. You just can’t mix godly and ungodly.
God loves you,
Don
