If you know the Lord like that then I proudly call you brother. 😃

I’ve been thinking about this again, I say at least the Catholics who left to be Protestants are in Danger of Hell, at this point they would be in Formal Hersey assuming they understood what being Catholic meant and what leaving the Truth meant.

The one who pulled them away, most likely not. A long stay in purgatory though.

I did not realize it was Historyb who determines who does aor does not go to Heavan or Hell.

He asked a question of what we thought I gave my opinion you must learn opinions are just that, I thank you not to be so foolish next time

As a religious Jew, the only reasons someone could go to hell in our faith are: murder, idolatry or forbidden sexual immorality (if they die unrepentent of these three crimes.) Our religion teaches that those three are sins a Jew should be willing to die rather than to commit.

From time to time, in my life I have counseled Catholics who either already left Catholicism or wanted to, that there are other faiths they might find more to their own personal way of believing, I saw nothing wrong in it. I also don’t feel that every Jew ā€œmustā€ stay or be in the strictest form of Judaism (Orthodoxy), even though I generally am in that category.

I feel God speaks to different people sometimes in different ways.

I would like to hear the ā€œofficialā€ non-Catholic, Protestant and/or ā€œformer Catholicā€ response to this, if there is one, my guess is that there are many different Protestant ā€œtwistsā€ on this subject.

Is anyone here afraid of being guilty of the sin of apostasy or heresy?

I’ll tell you the official non-Catholic view on the matter, if you’ll first tell me the official non-Methodist view on it.

Perhaps off subject, but how do those in the Jewish Faith repent? Do you have anything akin to Confession.

Also how is Idolatry defined? Watching TV instead of praying, use of Icons in prayer or what?

Just curious.

I put ā€œmaybeā€ although I do think that if they go to Hell, it wouldn’t be strictly over this issue. I mean, the only way I could see them being accountable for their actions is if they knew the Catholic Church was the way to salvation and still led others away from the Church. This makes no sense, though. Why would anyone who knew the Catholic Church was the truth still be adamant about leading people away from it? I would think that only the demons would have such a goal.

But there is no purgatory.

Says you mate. God seems to have a different opinion of things.
God has no mention of purgatory.
Its just another Catholic fantasy originally instituted to bring fear to members so they could easily be controled by clerics.

They most assuredly will get a crown in heaven for leading a lost soul out of bondage with the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

Awww…thats cute, its a theory alright, but something tells me that you didn’t come up with it yourself. Seems to familiar, as if it was instituted, for some reason… Hisalone you’ve become increasingly aggressive since you joined here. Any particular reason for that?
