This girl has got no game, no charisma. She’s not that popular with ‘people of color’ and has history ideal for neg campaign ads.

She will do well on the talk shows but history will show her pick to be a mistake by Joe.

The Democrats offer competent governance.
I don’t think even an independent would believe that, or believe they wouldn’t, either one. There’s no reason to think one way or the other at this point.
I think there are too many excuses and inconsistencies in the statements by evangelical leaders
Like what?
The Democratic party is decidedly anti-Catholic - unless of course - one is a dissident Catholic
That’s why the DNC supports dissident “Catholic” organizations like “Catholics United”. That’s why Biden, as senator, opposed Alito, Roberts and was vocal in his opposition to Kavanaugh and Thomas. He also wants to reinstate Obama’s HHS Mandate that forces Catholic organizations to provide abortifacients to their workers.

He is literally telling suburban women they do not have to fear lower-class people in their neighborhoods if they elect him. No dog whistles here, only fire alarms.
At one time in my life I did real estate appraising. Put multi-family housing into a fairly upscale single family subdivision and you drive values of the latter down significantly. That’s true even if the multi-family housing is fairly upscale itself. It’s not as bad as putting in an auto supply store, but it hurts the neighborhood for sure.

Not surprisingly, that’s why new residential subdivisions have use and structure restrictions.

Let me correct a previous post of mine. Biden has not opposed all Catholic appointees to the Supreme Court. He did support Sotomayor, a NARAL approved “Catholic”. But he did oppose Roberts, Alito, Kavanaugh and opposes Thomas. So he’s okay with abortion-approving Catholics, just not the ones who are faithful to the teachings of the Church.

And, as Biden is a guy who “married” two homosexuals in a parody of a sacrament, one shouldn’t be surprised.

She’s accused of mass incarceration with lower level offenders.

That’s pretty bad. I’d be interested in the demographic breakdown of this as well.

Hmmm…I just saw this in the NY Times:
Joseph R. Biden Jr. has raised more than $50 million since he named Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate, an enormous outpouring of donations that could allow the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee to expand the electoral playing field in the final 80-plus days until the election.

To put that sum in perspective, it is more than Ms. Harris raised in her own 2020 presidential bid last year and nearly as much as the $60.8 million that Mr. Biden raised in all of 2019.

One small indicator of the energy for the Biden-Harris ticket: The campaign said it had sold more than $1.2 million in yard signs by the end of Wednesday evening.

Not as big as a deal it seems.

In 2017 the wife ( President of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Time ) got a Pastor’s License online and married a Lesbian Couple. Her Husband was at the time was in service as Faithful Navigator and District Deputy. He was in attendance supporting his wife. I was there at the wedding taking pictures of this spectacle.

I reported the two to State Officers and Parish Priest with the Pictures included. Absolutely nothing happened.

After 30 years of service to the KOC, I resigned due to the blatant corruption.

It might depend on where one is. Back during a time when we had an extremely liberal bishop, a friend of mine had a huge problem with the religious texts the diocesan director of religious education was going to use in the next school year. No real religious content, just sociology and lightweight at that. Some bordered on the heretical. The instructor’s manual was, he felt, even obscene in parts.

The friend couldn’t get anywhere with the diocese, and couldn’t even get an appointment with the bishop, so he went to the K of C and showed them the texts. The K of C then wrote a letter to the DRE saying they would picket the chancery in full regalia if the texts were not changed to something that actually was religious instruction. The bishop caved.

I think it’s a proportional reason, yes. If you can’t trust the head of the executive branch to tell the truth or play by the rules, you’re asking for a whole heap of trouble. I think there have to be basic standards of competence and accountability and he doesn’t meet them.

Evangelicals gave Trump a ‘mulligan’ on adultery and Pat Robertson called Melania’s nude modelling ‘art’. That’s inconsistent. This was after Michelle Obama was criticized by evangelicals for going to a Beyonce concert.

Your profile says you’re Catholic. You would support abortion because you think Trump lies and cheats in politics?

She is an AKA. That means there are 300,000 reasons your statement is wrong.
So all members of that sorority have to march in lockstep because they’re black? None of them are allowed to be Repubs or prolife?

You weren’t asking me, but…

I am voting for Biden/Harris despite their stand on abortion and other things.

To me, it is so obvious that Trump should not be President, should never have been President.

As to abortion, how much influence does the President/VP have over the issue? I am not in favor of packing the Supreme Court or Federal Courts with one political ideology, and we are close to that now. Abortion is down. Local efforts are having an effect.

I don’t think the church would want us to support such a fundamentally dishonest and incompetent man; I think he’s not of sound mind. I never had much time for Biden, and some of his positions I am opposed to, but I think we’re in existential crisis time here.

Biden campaign says it has raised more than $34 million since Harris joined the ticket

Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s campaign announced Thursday that it raised over $34 million since Sen. Kamala Harris joined the ticket.

The haul was raised between Tuesday, the day they announced Harris would be Biden’s running mate, and Wednesday, the day the two appeared together in public for the first time.

“Team Biden-Harris Digital raised $34.2 million between the 11th and 12th,” the campaign’s digital director, Rob Flaherty, announced on Twitter. He said this includes $1.3 million raised on yard signs alone.

A Biden campaign aide tells CNN that their biggest fundraising hour of the campaign came during their first event on Wednesday — from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., ET — when they raised more than $3 million in online-only donations.

On Wednesday night, Biden expressed gratitude to donors.

“The response has been overwhelming. In the last 24 hours, we’ve raised $26 million. One hundred and fifty thousand of you (were) first-time contributors,” Biden said at a virtual grassroots fundraiser. “It’s really palpable, the excitement, because there’s so much at stake.”
