I should add, though, that it’s not a sin to miss Mass on Sunday if you’re sick, caring for someone who’s sick, can’t get to Mass. And with this COVID thing going on, our bishop has said that 'those who are at high risk of developing a severe case of COVID should refrain from attending Mass at this time." Out of obedience, my daughter (who’s super high risk) hasn’t been attending Mass.
 
That’s a broad term, there are literally thousands of media outlets, narrow it down so I at least have an idea of what your talking about.

It is inaccurate to say that Biden ‘runs on an abortion platform’. That is certainly not a point of his speeches.

Right, I’ve finally figured out what you’re talking about, given that its come from a Murdoch gutter rag, that isn’t fit to line a cat’s litter tray, I’ll hold off until someone else picks up the story. Where I’m from we know not to believe Murdoch.

I’m not being nasty, I just know that Murdoch’s rags have a loose connection when it comes to facts. Theres been a successful 30 year boycott of his tabloids around these parts, I’ll let you look up why.

I’d rather wait until someone reputable picks it up and verifies it. I shan’t be holding my breath though.

Of course, those are excused absences.

In one of my other posts I mentioned it’s missing mass without a valid excuse

Hilarious! You think there’s wailing and grinding of teeth in Amy’s confirmation hearings; that’s nothing like the tsunami of pearl-clutching that would occur when pigs fly and Deacon Christopher stands for election: compulsory military or peace corps service, mandatory study of the Constitution, abolishing half the federal government, voter ID requirement, all able-bodied citizens required to mentor a student or visit an elder in a rest home or serve meals at homeless shelters, etc. I’d only get three votes: Ron Paul, Rand Paul and mine.

In all seriousness, one of my deacon classmates did request (and receive) permission from the archbishop to run for county commissioner, which he won.
And, for everyone’s amusement - the Canon prohibiting clerics from elected office is one that covers unseemly activities that are contrary to those in sacred orders.
