On the plus side, whenever somebody tells a guy in Canada that they can’t be part of the abortion debate because it’s a women’s rights issues, they can now with government support say, “Well, about that…”

Trust me…it is hilarious to toss that card down.

ETA: And, if you’re wondering, yes, I do identify as female. During abortion debates only though. Because I’m told gender is fluid and a social construct.

When someone tells me (a guy) that I can’t be part of the abortion debate, I simply reply “I was adopted as an infant; I think that not only gives me a right to comment, it gives me a duty to comment”.

What have people said in response to throwing down that card?

See above. Here’s another idea: “yes I am male, as are roughly half the aborted fetuses. That gives me every right to participate in the debate”.

Abortion receives taxpayer’s money in Canada so there’s that too.

The AMA is also supportive of abortion. So what’s your point?
I was under the impression that the AMA was the mainstream medical association. Do you reject all of their recommendations because of what you believe is their stand on Abortion? I do not know enough about the pros and cons to impose my beliefs on anyone regarding abortion other than what the Catholic stand is. For the record our family has actively avoided abortion.

My point was that main stream Medical, psychological, psychiatric and legal associations are all in agreement with bill C-16 not just in Canada but Globally.

I know it is difficult to comprehend what it is to be transgender, thankfully there is growing support for transgender people.

Is this an attempt to ridicule Canadians and Transgender people?

No. What it means is they are wrong on abortion, and they can be wrong on other issues as well. And given how incredibly wrong they are on abortion, it’s not surprising they could be wildly wrong on other social issues.

Just because the AMA supports something does not make that thing good. So citing AMA support is meaningless.

And once again, Canada takes the lead is doing something really, really stupid for no reason other than political virtue-signaling. Lord, I want out of this country soon.
lol. Pathetic.

Anybody with a modicum of common sense can go watch Jordan Peterson on parliament hill and see what a travesty this bill is.

It’s just a matter of how far this country will fall under Trudeau. I still do not comprehend how people voted for that moron. God have mercy on us.
There is no such thing as Transgender; God will not be mocked.
I wonder how those who view themselves as transgender and stumble across CAF threads like one respond to the language used here. I wonder if anyone here actually thinks of this before posting.

Yes you are correct, there is no guarantee that they are always correct, however they do have access to more information than you or I. Their view is no different from main stream medical, psychological and legal experts. When you step back and look at the big picture, the trend is unmistakably moving to a better understanding and acceptance of transgender people.
I know this does not sit well with you and I do not expect to see a change of heart so let us agree to disagree.
God Bless

And I’m sure that the women in that locker room are just thrilled at watching a man strip naked in front of them while claiming that he’s just like them. Not to mention the little girls who get to share the experience of being ogled by a ‘transgendered’ pervert.

Sorry, but there have already been too many examples of exactly that sort of thing happening in other locales for me to believe it won’t happen here.
No, by all means let’s invite biological females who dress as males to use the ladies room. My daughters should be able to make sense of that easily.

But gracepoole our PM is a “moron”.

So what, they still have the same equipment? However, if they have transitioned then that’s a different story.

They also have significantly more information and training related to reproduction and unborn children yet are wildly wrong. It’s not the amount of knowledge or training that is the problem. The problem is the philosophical underpinnings. They are starting in the wrong place and thus end up in the wrong place.

I wouldn’t be comfortable sending a woman who hasn’t yet transitioned but presents as male into a ladies room. I wouldn’t be comfortable sending a man who hasn’t yet transitioned but presents as female into a men’s room. Just seems like problems (and probably violence in the latter) may occur all around.

The church has a relatively firm stand on Abortion (to me is a complex subject) but it does not have a formal stand on Transgender and Transition so the question of philosophical underpinnings being a problem is questionable and does not apply here.

By the way my parish priest confirmed that the Diocesan Theologian said that the church did not have a formal stand on this. More over the Church in Canada did not raise any formal concern or objection to this bill.
