I don’t expect any. It is one of the things I find interesting about Catholics.I’m sorry, Aprilfloyd, but you’re not going to get any change out of us.
Please, everyone, stop this. There is no convincing Aprilfloyd of the Truth. We must just pray for him.
Cute answer, but meaningless in this context.I am still ‘raised catholic’![]()
Whoah - you are way out there now. It’s not a defect. With all due respect Buffalo, evolution is accepted science, that ship has sailed whether you are on it or not.
Put two men on the island and see how they evolve.
Put two women and see how they evolve.
I know, you know evolution does not work like that and wonder why you say these things. I think the issue here is why people look for any and every reason to maintain their position against it. Homosexuality evolved in the group known as humans.
Are you being faux naive?Whoah - you are way out there now.
The human body (male and female) are complementary and designed to procreate. The ability not to procreate would be a defect. All life has to procreate to continue on. This is basic stuff.
Hello, they wouldn’t have a chance to evolve for they would be dead. It is up to you to now prove that there is a fitness and selection reason for homosexuality. Got any? Nope. you won’t find any, since there aren’t any.
The reason it is with us today is because it IS NOT genetic.
Do you really believe what you say?The human species has managed to keep the trait for homosexuality as an inherent part for 1,000s and 1,000s of years. Homosexuality has evolved to avoid extinction and flourish.
Have you ever seen my ID stuff? Are you being faux naive?
Of course life has to procreate to continue, so are you being obtuse to not follow that.
Do you think that homosexuals are not created the same way as heterosexuals.?
You are funny Buffalo and I enjoy the badinage, but come on now. I suspect that you are deliberately pretending to know less about evolution than you do - why is that?
What does “lower the bar” mean? It sounds like an equivocation, “homosexual marriage is wrong because it’s wrong.”Heterosexual marriage is natural and beneficial to society and children. The other is not and lowers the bar.
The Church is not wrong on this at all.
uuuuhhhhh, …WHAT?! Even Protestants believe that Homosexuality is disordered,The employer would escape legal repercussions if he kept his homophobia to himself and does not discriminate against homosexuals or heterosexuals for that matter
I don’t see how it affects people who are not involved with the heterosexual couple who may get married - it is non of our business.
Brendan, I appreciate that Catholics believe in the idea of ‘Souls’ and I respect your right to believe that - but it’s just a religious view - that’s all. It does not have any bearing on those who do not believe the Catholic faith
As to the argument that this is a “Catholic” only issue (re: support of traditional marriage), it’s not. As the OP, I’m not even Catholic, if you look at my info. Plus, there are a lot of other Christians supporting traditional marriage, plus Islam and the LDS church. So to think only Catholics are flawed in their thinking is incorrect. We’re not giving up our conviction that God deems marriage as sacred and a covenant (or as Catholics believe) a sacrament. As an open question, Why do Catholics have such an issue with homosexual marriage. Is it because their doctrine forces them and they cannot look at it objectively. Maybe the Church on this issue is just wrong.
You’re not keeping very good company, are you?As to the argument that this is a “Catholic” only issue (re: support of traditional marriage), it’s not. It does not serve the common good or protect the rights of children. To allow it for the sake of 2% of the population does not raise the bar, it lowers it.What does “lower the bar” mean? It sounds like an equivocation, “homosexual marriage is wrong because it’s wrong.”
What is that supposed to mean? I was just stating the facts that it is not just the Catholics who support traditional marriage in charity. Yes, I know of a nice Mormon family and respectfully disagree with their beliefs, as I am sure you do my Lutheran theology. You’re not keeping very good company, are you?
Ignore it or put up a smiley…What is that supposed to mean? I was just stating the facts that it is not just the Catholics who support traditional marriage in charity.
How so?It does not serve the common good
How so?or protect the rights of children.
Irrelevant. To allow it for the sake of 2% of the population
How?does not raise the bar, it lowers it.
I agree with that. What does that have to do with this though? We should raise the bar by encouraging strong families with both parents in the home.
I don’t disagree with this, as a general idea. But again what is the relevance?Stronger families means less crime and less enforcement costs, healthier families and lower medical (repair) costs.
Strawman? I think the argument is probably a lot deeper than that. We’re talking about people who love each other, desiring to be able to see each other in the hospital, to manage their finances jointly, etc.The homosexual argument is one of “I want what they have because I want it”. Hardly a selfless reason.
Well, I was just kidding. Islam and LDS around here, you know… not exactly like Lutherans or Baptists…What is that supposed to mean?
I probably agree with your Lutheran theology about as much as I agree with Catholic theology.I was just stating the facts that it is not just the Catholics who support traditional marriage in charity. Yes, I know of a nice Mormon family and respectfully disagree with their beliefs, as I am sure you do my Lutheran theology.
Many people love. Some love their animals, some love children in the wrong way. Just because you emotionally love does not make it in your own best interests, much less society’s.How so?
How so?
These are all declaratory statements so far, you’re not explaining the why/how.
Irrelevant.
How?
I agree with that. What does that have to do with this though?
