Now let me see…you say that gays wanting to marry is ‘promiscuous’? That’s a classic oxymoron. And gay partners are denied healthcare because they’re not married. Are you saying there are NO legal benefits to being married? Go ahead and try to make THAT argument.
i dont quite get your argument. seriously.

you getting all mixed up here. i know you are trying to put gays and heterosexuals all in the same category, am i correct?

a man and a woman together is not the same as two men together or two women together. get this through your head.

God has created man and a woman. it is a sin before God what you are advocating. do you care about what God says?

I didn’t say all Catholics were bigots; merely those who wish to deny equal rights to gays because they are gay.
By your definition all practicing and faithful Catholics are bigots. If a Catholic supports same sex marriage or sodomy (or other things like abortion, divorce, etc) they are outside of the Church. Any parish or organization doing the same is in de facto schism.

I am not a bigot. I do not deny anyone basic human rights. However, there are also human responsibilities. If you suffer from same sex attraction you have a responsibility to practice a chaste lifestyle. Society has a responsibility to provide basic healthcare to you. The Church has a responsibility to teach and support homosexuals away from sin.

Life isn’t fair. We are challenged to live according to God’s will. Our moral relativist society may suggest everything in ok, but logic, nature, and God tell you it’s not.

Larkin31 posted the reference to the fact most people have tried oral, if not anal sex, with the latter at 40%. Catholics are not exempt. As to the bible, I suggest you check out Ephesians 6:5 and let me know if slaves should obey their masters.

Cigaret smoking leads to death for 1/3 of all smokers. Lack of healthcare for gay partners leads to death, etc etc. And it’s their choice. It’s none of your business.

And if you’re a Catholic bigot, my heart goes out to you. I want the Church to life a non-bigoted lifestyle. And it’s hardly anti-Catholic to show that bigotry has been part of your history. I noticed you haven’t discussed a single point other than to moan that it’s anti-Catholic.
so, you blame the CC because gay partners cannot get health care?
you call it bigotry, but God build a Church on this earth not to lead people into perdition but to lead their souls to Heaven. are you calling God a bigot?

St Peter was a holy man, yet when Jesus approached him in the boat, immediatly he fell on his face and said: Lord, depart from me for i am a sinfull man. this a great model of holiness and recognition of God’s purity. the problem with our world today is pride and arrogance. we came to believe that we have rights even above God’s laws. we come to believe that we no longer have to obey God but claim for ourselves which we judge to be our right instead of consulting God’s laws. this has been a constant struggle between man and God. in the end God is the one who prevails. even if these things were to happen in teh church, the Church cannot stand by itself. Jesus is the commander in the Church, the Church cannot and will not decide things for herself. if the Church would to dissobey God’s law, God would not put up with it.
what is your problem with the Church anyway? if you dont like the Church, you are free to live as you like, or may be you dont think that the Church should be here because it stands on the way of your lifestyle. in this case you are the bigot one.

Get this through your head: the same arguments used to be used against blacks and whites, Jews and Christians, etc.

No, I don’t care what God says. What I care about is the law. And right now, because of bigotry, people who love each other, and wish to spend their lives together, can’t, because of bigotry.

What God does is his business. How it affects people is mine. And the bigotry attributed to God is denying people their rights.

If this issue were only like eating meat on Friday, then it would be none of my business. But denying people equal protection under the law because of their homosexuality is bigotry. Catholic doctrine is free to be as homophobic as it wants. When it affects non-Catholics, then it’s a matter of concern.

Yep, all practicing and faithful Catholics are bigots if they support extending Catholic teaching as a matter of social policy. And they do.

You do deny people the right to marry, the right to healthcare, the right to raise children, etc. etc. “Same sex attraction” is no more an illness than is being Catholic. And it’s none of your business how chaste gays are. And ‘nature’ tells us nothing about being gay. Logic suggests it’s a matter of personal choice that should be respected, not used as a basis for bigotry

Exactly! that is my point. you dont care about God’s law. the Church does care about God’s law. what is your problem?

dont you think you are the one being a bigot here?

the Church is not here to follow man’s opinion, she is here to make known to all what God says. if you choose not to follow it, it is your problem. why do you bother so much with the CC? there are many other faiths out there that supports your views, go to them.

the first Commandment says: we must love our God with all our hearts, mind and soul. it doesnt say, we should love ourselves first.

your fight is with God and not His Church. that is why you cannot win.

you are saying that the Church should not follow God’s laws. the Church should just recognize whatever people wants, believers or non believers. you have have very little understanding of God and His Church, yet you are trying to ditate to the Church what she should teach. you are trying to take the place of God. you are not God. you are just a creature just like all others. here today, gone tomorrow.

what affects you, it might affects many others. there are many people outthere that doesnt support your views, believers and nonbelievers. so, when you say what affects people is your business, then you must consider those who do not in anyway support what you are advocating.

What I’m saying is the Church has no right to impose its bigotry on others. Perhaps you’d like to return to a time when Catholics could not hold public office in many states because laws, imposed by Protestant churches, prohibited that.

And fanatics makes the argument that those who disagree with them don’t understand God. Islamists say the same thing. Hindu fanatics say it, etc etc.

again you putting all things in the same category. it is not so.

you are trying to impose your views on us and we are telling you, that we dont accept your views. you also have no right to impose your views on us. that is all. we dont have to accept your views. we must protect our children from such sins. i for one dont want my child to witness two men or two women kissing in public or think that is normal behavior in society.

you have no right to raise children. you cant have children.

if it is a matter of choice, why do you think that is ok that all must accept your choices?
how about our choices?

I don’t get this statement. Are you saying that you are greater than God? Whether you believe it or not, whether you like it or not, but what affect people is NOT your business in this situation, it’s God’s business. He made the rules, not you, you did not make us, therefore no part whatsoever of humanity belongs to you. Everything about us, including you, belongs to God… mind, body, soul. If something affects non-Catholics, then it’s a matter of concern to God as well.

Please remember that God made the rules, and it’s up to us to follow them because we belong to Him. You can have a little tantrum over it if you like, but in the end, God’s the Daddy and we gotta listen for the sake of our own good.

So when a communist oppresses the Church, that’s OK because to oppose that means you’re imposing your views on him? I wonder about Cardinal Mindzenty.

It’s up to you to explain your bigotry to your children. That’s your moral failing. It’s ridiculous to pretend everyone else has to order their lives around your perverted views.

This is not Saudi Arabia. What you believe about God is your business, not mine. You want a theocracy? Burn the Constitution and impose it, then. You have no right to impose Catholic doctrine on non-Catholics.

God can take care of himself. He doesn’t needed hooded hooligans to help him

Thank you for clarifying your position.

You may believe the Church is a bigot and that is very sad. Hopefully one day you will see the Light.

Homosexuality is not self sustaining therefore God, nature and logic tells you it is not right.

Murder is not right either. To suggest otherwise is not supported with a defence of ‘bigotry’.

There is right and wrong in this world. Moral relativists may suggest the world is grey but that is easily defeated.

Now this is funny! Here you are telling me to burn the constitution… I’ll GLADLY do it because I have no affinity to it. Did you even look to see who you were talking to? Do you want me to burn your flag too?.. Heck, I’ll burn your flag and you can burn mine  . You see there you go again, putting God in a box. When I said that God’s the Daddy that means he’s the daddy of all creation. That means you, me, animals, the world!
Oh and by the way, gays have no right imposing their sinful behaviours upon the humans who are trying to raise their children without scandal.

Fine. I’m glad to see you admit you dislike democracy, the Constitution and freedom, in favor of a Saudi-like religious state. I have no problem with your honesty.

As to ‘scandal’, it’s a scandal that many Catholics are bigots. I know few of them feel the way you do about democracy. But at least you’re honest enough to admit you think everyone should be subject to a Catholic form of Shari’a.

Love is self sustaining to people who are in love. It’s arbitrary to define ‘sustaining’ as some condition of loving another person. That’s your view. You’re welcome to it. It’s ridiculous to pretend this must be imposed on EVERYONE as a condition of sharing one’s life with another.

And homosexuality is no more ‘murder’ than being Catholic is like being a murderer. That type of extremist argument cuts both ways.

Twist it all you want, and have as big a temper tantrum as you wish, it’s not relevant to the discussion.

You keep talking about rights and defend disordered behaviours that are demonstrated in public. You keep defending those who are trying to normalize behaviours to the point of the detriment of the souls of those that are displaying these actions as well as to the souls of those who are being brainwashed into thinking these actions are normal. What about the rights of us that want our children to know right from wrong?

You don’t know much about the Catholic religion do you? We are not bigots at all, as a matter of fact we accept homosexuals completely, except when they display their sins as something that’s good. That would go for adulterers, alcoholics, prostitutes ect. You see, the sin isn’t in the “disability” itself, it’s in the sin of acting upon it, and especially in the sin of promulgating it. The bigot is actually the one who has an irrational intolerance for us Catholics because he/she’s mistaken in where we’re actually coming from.

We are intolerant of sin, not of those who need our help to avoid the sin.
