**i don’t think we’ll sink just yet…though…america WILL no longer BE america as we know it.😦
**
Thank you. It’s what I am implying just as you said.

However, in light of these two issues, it should be a WAKEUP CALL for us to get closer to the Sacrament than at anytime in our lives before.

America has lost favor with God in so many, many devious matters such as killing of the unborn; same-sex marriage; illegitimacy; cloning; sperm banks; euthanasia. America is falling from God’s graces without a parachute. Stay close. It’s the best advice we can follow.🙂

Hmmm…Care to explain what you mean?
**i MEAN that america is know as a melting pot of cultures with a basic shared language.
eventually, ‘i’ think, we will become more like seperate countries within a country.

with this i wholeheatedly agre.
stay close and hang on tight…it’s gonna be a hell of a ride.

Why is it that some people choose to conveniently ignore our low birth rates, what that means to our workforce and the losses we will incur should we fail to provide the economy with needed workers? AND, why is it the some people continue to support the failed policies of the past as if that will fix our broken system? If we continue to do what we’ve done, we’ll continue to get what we got. That means more “illegal” immigrants that are kept from integrating and assimilating into our political, social-economic system. How will that result in keeping the America we know? The America we know does not depend on our color or ethnicities, it depends on our institutions! If we choose to increase our shadow population, as the status quo has done, that will undermine our institutions. If we undermine our capacity to grow into a cohesive yet pluralistic society by depriving ourselves of the people we need to keep things going, that too will undermine our institutions. Why does it appear that we are so afraid of others that we are willing to hurt ourselves? Why are we so afraid of our neighbor? Why do we have so little faith?

That is a misconception. America is a melting pot, a pluralistic society, we have one National language and there are more English speakers than there have ever been. Immigrants learn the lanuage faster than ever! There have always been many foreign languages spoken here and our national language, BTW, is one of them. Of those, Spanish was here first. Why all the insecurity? Where does this unsubstantiated fear come from?

This implies that America was ever God’s special favorite or something. A country that was founded upon the dehumanization and decimation of the natives and the ownership of human persons and later one that allowed monopolies to form while the vast majority could barely eek out a living to a country that exploits other countries for their resources never had God’s favor. As CATHOLICS (we are Catholics FIRST, or at least, I would think we should be!), our job is to pray that our leaders do what is right in accord with the whole teaching of the Church, including the social teaching of the Church which goes against much of what our country is doing today.

This isn’t to say that I hate America. I love my country, but I am willing to look at her flaws as flaws and demand their correction.

I noticed that you listed a number of ProLife issues, don’t you know that the immigration issue is also part of that argument?

What are your proposals for correcting them?

What are your proposals for correcting them?
Cut off the power of corporations in this country by reregulating them and breaking up the monopolies (in other words, start enforcing the Sherman Anti-Trust Act again!) and stop exploiting the resources of the other countries. Protect working people in the United States, including those here without papers.

There’s a start. I know, I know…it’s all communism, right?

You might want to take a tour of the former Eastern Bloc nations and see how that all worked for them.😃

**the SUBSTANTIATED fear is in the small stuff.
mexican students in california holding a protest and putting the mexican flag ABOVE the american flag on the pole with the american flag placed upside down to boot.
hubbys employer losing a contract NOT to better qualified bunch of people but to mexicans (without green cards, the ability to speak english and only an elementary knowledge of the job) BECAUSE it was cheaper.
the fact that “I” have to dial 1 (my gas company has me dial 2) to speak english and, in some cases, if you press nothing, it goes straight to spanish.
yes…there have always been many languages spoken here.
that’s true.
but there was at least an unofficial IDEA that america speaks english.
i simply do not believe in blanket amnesty and i seriously doubt i ever will.

Sigh

If you think that what I propose is communism, perhaps a political science class would benefit you or at least learn what words mean.

My last line was meant to be facetious.

You want to see the logical conclusion of what’s going on today? Try Gilded Age. Robber Baron Era. We’re THERE right now.

If you don’t mean communism, you shouldn’t say communism.

But as many defenders of Marxism have tried to explain, what happened in the Soviet Union (and every other nation that has tried Communism) isn’t real communism. They use centrally planned economies – and that’s what you’re proposing. The government should make the key economic decisions – decisions which are now made by myriads of people, each with his or her own reasons.

And centrally-planned economies don’t work.

Sure we are. And tomorrow, we’ll be in the Feudal Era.😃

America, in areas, will take on a look of a Third World nation very soon. There will be much friction between groups and what makes that so very foreboding is it will be a matter of SURVIVAL. groups will feel they are losing their identity and will feel oppressed.

Mr. Bush has a hidden agenda and he is from an elitist background. He was never a part of MIDDLE AMERICA. He led a life of priviledge. This is why he cannot relate to the maelstrom he has sponsored by not protecting America’s borders.

After all, that IS HIS JOB.

Pray for America

The original formation of America was in a spirit in harmony with God. America was indeed blessed and favored. Charity from America was also tacitly given in exhaultation of God.

America is no longer a nation of God. It is being controlled by elitists who seek power by division.

Amnesty for illegals is a stake through the heart.

So the decimation of people who already lived here and the dehunanization of Africans was “in a spirit in harmony with God?” Silence in the face of monopolization of business and the impoverishment of the vast majority of the working people in the United States during the Gilded Age is “in a spirit in harmony with God?” The exploitation of the resources and people of developing nations is “in a spirit in harmony with God?”

Which god?
America is no longer a nation of God. It is being controlled by elitists who seek power by division.
It never HAS been a nation of God, only ancient Israel can legitimately make that claim. We are CATHOLICS, so our God must be the Blessed Trinity.
Amnesty for illegals is a stake through the heart.
First, no amnesty has been proposed (no matter the right-wing elitist talking points) and there is no heart to drive a stake through.

Everyone with an ounce of sense knows this bill is an AMNESTY bill.

Peace

First, no amnesty has been proposed (no matter the right-wing elitist talking points)
The proposal calls for immediately conferring legal status on all illegals; it does not call for immediate citizenship. I’m not sure how you define amnesty but overlooking their illegal entry to this country and legalizing their presence is a workable definition for me.

Ender

So the decimation of people who already lived here and the dehunanization of Africans was “in a spirit in harmony with God?”
Once again, what’s your solution to these problems?
Silence in the face of monopolization of business
What monopolization of business? Give us an example.
and the impoverishment of the vast majority of the working people in the United States during the Gilded Age is “in a spirit in harmony with God?”
The “vast majority of the working people in the United States” have been impoverished? Please explain how you come to that conclusion.
