Look the fact is Christ does tell us not to vote Obama through the application of the principles of His Church. Christ would not want anyone to vote for someone who agreed with partial birth abortion, who hates religious liberty, who hates conscience wants to destroy marriage etc…
You mean to tell me that Jesus wouldn’t want someone to vote for Obama so that they can bleat about having “helped the poor” despite the assault on the RCC and the only thing they do is checking the D box every 2-4 years and using the force of corrupt government to take other people’s money to give to others while calling that Christian charity and taking most if not full credit for it?

golly gee…

Reminds me of the time a bond issue came up. The bond was unpopular because of its high price tag. The town I was living in was a college town, and most of the residents were renters (i.e. students). Signs started appearing in town that said: “If this passes, I WILL raise your rent!”
Sweet!

Firing AND blacklisting? Interfering with people’s ability to earn their daily bread because of who they support? If that is not a sin, then it should be.

I suppose your boss did “build that” all by himself, so what need of workers, or of qualities such as loyalty and fairness? For all I know, maybe he “built” the workers too, so no problem if he destroys their lives; after all he OWNS their minds and their wills, no…?
That’s why he was called the Prince of Darkness. You don’t want to know what he did with other employees wives, but that’s another topic all together, I don’t want to stray from the op

ringil;9877146]The term Obama"tax" hasn’t really caught on you know.
With non-partisan Rasmussen showing over 2 years of an average of about 53% of Americans supporting REPEAL, it doesn’t matter what you call it.

People want it gone.
Did Romney receive the MA healthcare he advanced while living there?
Actually, the people of MA seem to like it. If they want 8 figures of their tax money to go and insure 3% of a state of just over 6 million people, well, I suppose it’s their money to waste.

To answer your question, I don’t know but consider this:

Do you think that when the president returns to Cook County, he and his staff follow the Chicago gun control laws?

I am not sure about this but this sounds like it might be unconstitutional. I really do not think he has a right to threaten termination of their jobs if they vote for Obama. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am strongly against Obama myself but I don’t think threatening people if they don’t vote your way is right. In all honesty, it sounds like it might even be a sin.

That isn’t what he’s doing though. He’s saying that if his taxes go up again, he will have to cut back and lay people off in order to stay in business. The article title is misleading.

Oh okay. I see. I read just a small part of the first paragraph and the title and that’s the idea I got from it. Sorry about that. 😊

Great strawman. Since when does the government call taxes charity? From the inception of civilized society and organized religion, the two separate duties have been required: paying taxes and giving to the poor out of one’s own pocket.

I guess we can always dispense with one or both, if the ‘civilized’ part is becoming too much of a burden…

The other question is how many people will actually lose their jobs in the long run even if Obama is elected. After all, he owns a bunch of resorts, to really destroy the jobs he would have to bulldoze all of those resorts sell off the land and then through all of his money into the ocean (or try to build another 90000 square foot house). Most likely he would sell his resorts to someone who would hire workers. He would take his money and invest it somewhere, which most usually means lending it or investing it in other businesses. Now I am not arguing that Obama’s policies have no effect, but getting at the actual effect is a bit trickier than at first glance.

When public money is spent for the express purpose of making the recipient richer whether it is Solyndra, McCatskills husband, Waters husband’s bank, ADM, General Electric or free cell phones to welfare cases it is extortion. It is only justice that the coercive power of the state be reserved to public works , like say building and maintaining an efficient killing operation; governments are really good at this; building levies, roads, they do OK at these type of things as well. Not so good at education. Local school boards did really well at this but when the big bugs got into trying to run schools they messed up big time. 🤷

But back to the topic at hand, some clever operators have figured out by making employees part time and limiting them to 30 hours a week they can avoid the penalty….er…. taxes that come with this monstrous health care alleged reform and as a sweetner on the deal, they can eliminate benifits. Way to go Demopublicans……real good for the middle class.

“Got to pass it to know what’s in it.” But ain’t that America something to see…

One effect that is already known. Make full time employees part time. Limit them to maximum 30 hours work a week with no benefits, no penalty…er… tax.

Every government has its share of poor stewardship - as in giving taxpayer’s money (or tax breaks) to those who don’t need it or don’t use it productively. Corruption and inefficiency whether it be in government or in private enterprise, are phenomena as old as human endeavors and are NO EXCUSE for shirking civic duties.

There is a difference between demanding accountability and declaring taxes to be ‘extortion’ - the former is both a right and a duty, the latter is indicative of a societal death wish.

As for health care, don’t even get me started. What part of charging unsuspecting patients during the course of a visit, for products or services easily available elsewhere for 1\10th of the cost, is NOT con-artistry and totally immoral? That’s the kind of thing going on in America, so that medical facilities can ‘survive’ (personal luxury cars and vacations intact, of course).

What can I say to those who would*** ignore ***this while accusing government of extortion? Have we gone through every flavor of Kool Aid that exists? In such an environment it does not surprise me in the least that employers would seek ways around the health care law - EVEN if that would cost only an extra $0.15 or so (think pizza) CHARGED TO THE CUSTOMER. Methinks they ought to invent a new term for selfishness and greed…

Will he “have” to lay people off or his attachment to a particilar profit margin causing him to “need” to lay his employees off?

Maybe he could dramatically lower or simply forego his salary for a year or so= he’s already filthy rich- to save some just?

Maybe? Guess it depends on how important his hoard is to him.

Then again, as he so eloquently points out, he is “The Boss”.

As far as I am aware, any time the masses challenged a governments power to take their money the masses lost. Accepting Robin Hood being fiction, there might have been a Robin of Loxley type character but I don’t know if he had that much of an operation or impact. Regardless, someone putting a gun to your head threating your welfare if you don’t turn over your money is extortion. It is societal suicide to pretend it is patriotic to surrender your money knowing it is going to be squandered. It is still extortion even if it is done, by a political class, whose members are selected, then offered to me to choose between. I really don’t have any say in it.

What I wish these political types would consider, if you are going to force me to cough up my money, treat it with some respect. But that won’t happen because the taking is so easy for them.

Simple rules of real economics. Capital seeks its highest return on investment.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss……

There are example of those who put their employees first but I’ll grant you, such is not the majority.

I wasn’t suggesting challenging the power to tax, because I have no problem with the concept of taxation. Like I said, it goes hand in hand with civilization.

What I am suggesting is that the ballot box is not used as judiciously as it could be, to hold government at all levels, accountable for using that money wisely. Related to that is the question of limiting their power to tax in the first place.

People short change themselves when they align with political parties in such a way that allows their vote to be taken for granted (bloc voting). There IS power in the ballot, if used strategically. In my mind, EVERY state (or county, as applicable) should be a battleground state in all elections.

Speaking of straw men…

Please explain your 15 cent comment. Is this your thought of the increase because of Obama care? I hope I am is reading your post, because employers and employees are paying much more than $0.15 from the affects of Obama care. I work for a large fortune 500 company, I can see with the changes being made, and the discussions being held as I am in management, there will be major changes soon if not a decision to drop the benefit all together and opt to pay the “tax” instead.

This CEO was one of the brave ones who is standing up for his employees. If Obama gets another term many more of us will be out of work and on public assistance after another four years. If you say different then you haven’t watched what he has done in his first 4 years, why would it be any different?
