Speaking of straw men…

Please explain your 15 cent comment. Is this your thought of the increase because of Obama care? I hope I am is reading your post, because employers and employees are paying much more than $0.15 from the affects of Obama care. I work for a large fortune 500 company, I can see with the changes being made, and the discussions being held as I am in management, there will be major changes soon if not a decision to drop the benefit all together and opt to pay the “tax” instead.

This CEO was one of the brave ones who is standing up for his employees. If Obama gets another term many more of us will be out of work and on public assistance after another four years. If you say different then you haven’t watched what he has done in his first 4 years, why would it be any different?
My 15 cent comment in based on some pizza firm’s (forget which) exec’s statement, that Obamacare for their employees would result in pizzas costing the customer more. I’m guessing that $0.15 per pizza would not break the company’s bank account or drive customers away…

As for this CEO’s bravery, how much courage does it take to switch off the lights, put on a creepy mask and scare a toddler out of his mind? That’s about as much bravery as I see here.

A Boss showing “bravery” in “standing up to his employees”? WOW that’s a new one.

Are you a Boss? If so I feel sorry for your employees. 😦

Will he “have” to lay people off or his attachment to a particilar profit margin causing him to “need” to lay his employees off?

Maybe he could dramatically lower or simply forego his salary for a year or so= he’s already filthy rich- to save some just?

Maybe? Guess it depends on how important his hoard is to him.

Then again, as he so eloquently points out, he is “The Boss”.
If a business is not profitable, it will close and everyone is out in the streets The entire purpose of a venture into business is to make a profit. Why is this evil? I just don’t see how so many Americans and especially our president, who have no idea of what our free enterprise system and economic system is all about.

Why is a person who takes a risk and makes it good seen as the problem and the government who is trying to take more of the fruits of their labor good?

Do you have any evidence to show this particular person is “filthy rich” or is holding his “hoard” more important than the well being of his employees? How do you know he is not already giving his entire salary to charity? One thing I would lay my next paycheck on, I’d bet that he is giving more to charity than Obama and Biden combined.

PS. He is the boss, he owns the company.

Well one thing. He has been in the process for years, of building the largest personal residence in the entire world.

I’d call that a “hoard”.

My employees love me, because I stand up for them and I am fair. Does that mean I give them everything they want? Not by a long shot, they know I love them and care for them and their families. Even the one’s I have had to fire left knowing I loved them. It’s not as cut and dry good verses evil as many see this world. We may have to agree to disagree on some of these issues, but my only point was trying to point out the generalizations and accusations made by some against others simply because we differ in opinions.

I do not look down on you because you accuse this man of being a bad person even though you do not know him, but I will point it out to you. You did pretty much what I thought you would do, you disagree so you make it personal, and I too must be a terrible boss and my employees hate me…but you have no idea who I am.

One effect that is already known. Make full time employees part time. Limit them to maximum 30 hours work a week with no benefits, no penalty…er… tax.

This may happen in some industries, particularly in industries where there is a plentiful supply of labor. On the other hand, my employer could not do that, because I and my colleagues would be gone in a second if they tried it. So the magnitude of the effect is still up for debate.

There are example of those who put their employees first but I’ll grant you, such is not the majority.
Probably the same as the number of workers who put their bosses first. Those are not a majority either.

You want a bigger house and you cannot have one, “maisn sha, ah cain’t hep you wit dat, you gotta get over dat jelous ting yea.”

Thant’s my Cajun way of saying you come across as a jealous whiner, sorry but that is the perception your words give.

How much should someoone be allowed to spend on a house? My house is modest, 2400 sqaue feet living with a market value of about $300k, is that too much? Should I be required to live in the same type and value house my employees live in? Where do I go wrong?

Is that the reason he can’t finish his 90,000 square foot house, because he gave all his money to charity? I do agree that whether or not he is filthy rich is debatable, since he had to divert money from his house project to keep his business afloat.

And this financial assessment is based on what?

How many construction workers will lose their jobs if your get your way?

Sounds like you are a good Boss. Your former statement that this guy is “brave” for “standing up to his employees”, sends a real message- at least to me- it doesn’t seem to relect how you are personally running your business.

Whenever anyone talks about how much money someone else has and how they spend it is always about envy.

Some would lose this project.

If this fellow where to re-imagine his profit margins and his accruement of wealth how many jobs might he save?

.15 cents per pizza would be something reasonable to the customer I agree. But again this would be the company’s decision to accept it and not the government’s.

I don’t know many CEO’s who are interested in scaring children, do you? I think this guy is trying to get the attention of his employees, and I think he has. He cannot assure their future employment if Obama gets another 4 years. This is the water cooler talk in big business as well, that I can assure you. The assurance of a future is not there right now.

I work in the electric utility business. many of the policies of the Bush and Obama administrations have hurt this industry, SOX and many regulatory changes. But what is the hardest thing to swallow is all the added costs because of these regs which are passed right through to the customers, the ratepayers which many of which are the same people you tend to stand up for.

Look at the changes in coal regulations, where do you think those employees are now because of Obama’s regulations which he told us he would put in place? They’re on the streets out of work, because many are now shut down.

Bravery is speaking out against mistaken policies and working to wake people out the rigors of life so we can change things for the better of all.

Christ spoke, more than once, about how wealth can defile the soul if not used responsibly. One could say it was a re-occurring theme of his message.

Does that make Cambodia one of the most Christian nations on earth?

When did He insist that someone else decide how the wealthy should spend their money?

“Ringil, go and take that wealthy man’s money, lay it down, and tell him to follow me”🤷
