Sure, one bullet at the would-be shooter and he returns 20 bullets back.Better to have one in the classroom who is aiming for the shooter than only having a shooter who is aiming for the kids.

Realistically, do you think you can get the country to make such a compromise? The country doesn’t see a connection in the problems, and I don’t see them being negotiated as such. As I said, we show we’re pro life and willing to make compromises in this area and then hope they accept the validity of pro life in the other areas. This thread does make matters look nearly hopeless…no one wants to even seriously consider a compromise. Very sad imo.
The all-or-nothing approach does not work.
Sad someone with a gun was’t there to stop them earlier isn’t it?Yea, the one at the mall, and this one at the school, both ended the sprees; when they turned their guns on themselves.
Edited to add: Didn’t the guy in the theater also kill himself?
Practice more often.Sure, one bullet at the would-be shooter and he returns 20 bullets back.
He may not have been fatally shot if he was wearing that he may have been debilitated which could of stopped himLets keep in mind one little small point, the gunman in the Conn, school shooting was wearing bullet proof body armor.
Not sure what it would’ve involved for an armed teacher to take him down, if they were armed.
Jim
It’s perhaps the best you can get. If you have 40-50% of the country for something, chances are you’re not going to get 3/4 of the states to ratify it. Whereas if you can get 40-50% for A and 40-50% for B then including both A and B may increase your chances of getting 75% for both A and B.Realistically, do you think you can get the country to make such a compromise? Do you have a link that supports that?Lets keep in mind one little small point, the gunman in the Conn, school shooting was wearing bullet proof body armor.

I don’t know enough about bullet proof body armor to know what the effect of being shot are, to comment more on the subject. He may not have been fatally shot if he was wearing that but he may have been debilitated which could of stopped him
So we want to place our children’s welfare on ‘may’ and ‘could’?He may not have been fatally shot if he was wearing that he may have been debilitated which could of stopped him
Exactly. But, according to some of the logic here, maybe teachers should ALSO wear body-proof armor for self-defense along with packing guns and perhaps a few grenades before leaving for work.So we want to place our children’s welfare on ‘may’ and ‘could’?
The shooter in CT was not wearing body armor.Exactly. But, according to some of the logic here, maybe teachers should ALSO wear body-proof armor for self-defense along with packing guns and perhaps a few grenades before leaving for work.
Report: Suspect in CT shooting wore body armorThe shooter in CT was not wearing body armor.
If he was, it should be easy to prove it with a link
.
Come on now Jim you’re better than that… your own link said unconfirmed reports:Report: Suspect in CT shooting wore body armor

I do not know enough of body armour to make an assement, do you?So we want to place our children’s welfare on ‘may’ and ‘could’?
Then its not your gun is it?Let me help you comprehend here. I said, ‘gun control’. I believe people have a legitimate right, and use for guns, but that more control is necessary in today’s world. Did that help?
I would have no qualms about checking my gun in and out at the sheriff’s department to go hunting.
