Yep… 48 out of 50 states enacting CC laws, many in the past 3 years.

Yeah the populace wants gun control…

Well, better security at schools and yes, perhaps having principles and teachings who are willing, to be trained with firearms and allow them to carry them into the schools.

I understand that Israel has armed staff in their schools.

But, I also understand that when we take away the ability of a madman to use a gun, he’ll find something else, probably more powerfull.

Good grief! How can rely on any news source as they all said that Ryan’s Mother was a teacher although in every interview with a citizen of Newtown nobody has ever heard of the Mother.

If his Mother didn’t teach there then it raises new questions about how he got passed security in entering the building.

This is the important thing. Mental illness and the failure to adequately treat it is the heart of the issue in almost every mass shooting. You just didn’t see mass shootings when there were asylums, even though guns were much easier to get. I’m not saying asylums are the way to go, but it really points towards mental health being a factor.

The police said he broke a window and entered that way.
 
Federal Government lacks the moral authority to have a comprehensive gun ban… listening to the news, Feds have abortion…so this would be a contradiction.

If anything, state, municipal, county, these are the ones that should work with any gun regulation.

Somehow this fact seems to overlooked again and again by gun control advocates.

So when a gunman shoots down people, the average law-abiding gun owner is punished.

So what’s the solution to mass murders such as this? Continue the status quo and hope you or your kids aren’t next?

Isn’t the murderer named Adam Lanza and Ryan is his brother?

I’ve thought about the guards… but I don’t know that would be awfully expensive with hundreds of thousands of schools. But I guess it’s a possibility.

How would you have taken away this kids ability to use a gun?

That’s another point that I heard brought up, we will have another mass shooting somewhere down the line, this one is particularly heinous because of the children but you have some deranged individuals out there, that shooting in Colorado looks like it could have spurred some copycat incidences.

Health care improvements for mentally ill and criminally insane that actually work to prevent them from harming others.

Either make sure they are treated or keep them in the asylum where they can’t hurt others.

We don’t know the story, the full facts but from what we do know, the parents should not have allowed this kid near the guns, should have had them locked up in a safe or something.

Actually, it’s hard to hide things from kids. It really is. And you can’t lock a gun in a safe if you should need it on short order. Still, should be a way to keep guns from kids, especially one who may be questionable.
