It needs to be repeated over and over again that there is no evidence gun control measures reduce violent crime, suicide or accidents

There are roughly 300 million firearms owned by civilians from 2010 statistics and 100 million handguns

Homicide rate has declined by nearly 1/2 in the last 20 years and the decline in violent crime has declined 41% in that time

Switzerland’s government mandates that every citizen owns and is trained with a firearm, and they had 36 gun related crimes in 2006. That would be the equivalent of there being 1413 gun crimes in the United States a year! That’s not murders, that’s GUN RELATED CRIMES, which can mean murders, attempted murders, armed robbery, ect. Chicago ALONE has more than that in a year.

What is or isn’t Constitutional is decided by our Supreme Court who has for the past 200 years said that we have a right to bare arms and have backed that up by nixing laws that abridge that freedom. Have an issue with it, take it up with SCOTUS.

that is a lie. you cant just go on assuming what the catholic church allows. if you would do a little research youll find that the church has supported gun control laws. sorry, the church isnt the mouthpiece of the republican party, its the mouthpiece of God.
 
Dont forget with 80 million gun owners, if only 5 % resisted calls for disarmament, that would be an army over over 4 million people and would count as one of the largest standing armies in the world. And before you say they don’t have fighter jets and satellites, neither do the Taliban and their numbers are far far less. …civil war 2?

Professor of criminology at Florida State University did research and found guns prevent estimated 6849 crimes per day, 2.5 million crimes annually and that every day 1100 murders, 5200 other violent and 550 rapes per day are prevented by showing a handgun, less than 0.9% of that time a gun is fired

Getting rid of legally own guns would not make the public any sefer, And who says that gun owners do nothing with their guns but shoot at beer cans in their backyard? Are you willing to tell all police that they have to face illegal guns with what? mace? a fly swater? :confused:

I see no sense in demonizing the innocent who happen to have no issues with a firearm. The point that gun control advocates are speaking up today really isn’t a surprise.

My prayers are with these souls.

What realistic solution’s exit is perhaps what needs to be contemplated. I can hear it now, ban automatic weapons and extended clips. Pretty old chant.

These individuals are detached from moral thinking/feeling. How one gets to that point, then entertains their sick thinking is the issue.
 
The only way to peaceably disarm America is make it attractive. Offer $100,000 for every AR-15 turned in. And $50,000 for every handgun. It would be cheaper than buying our own treasury bonds every month like the Fed does. It would stimulate spending and bring back the economy…maybe

ugh, please not the old black market argument. thats no excuse to tolerate evil. thats basically surrendering to evil. the fact is that gangmembers would still be no match for for law enforcment and those shabby weapons would still not pose as great a threat to the public as real semi automatic weapons.

The fact that such crimes happen everywhere is not in dispute, however, the frequency of those crimes is greater in nations such as ours with rampant and practically unimpeded gun ownership.
