Just cause it was taken out of that paragraph, doesn’t mean it wasn’t added elsewhere where it would fit and flow better?

Could just be a re-arranging/writing thing.
Yes DaddyGirl, God was alive and well at the DNC tonight!

Anyone listen to Ms. Obama fictionalize her husband’s background? I think she might have taken the time to read his books before painting him as just like you and me! The poor boy, the poor college student, with a rusted-out car, etc. etc. blah blah blah. Yeah, Michelle, what about his Commie Mommy? What about that drunken wife-beating Communist bio-dad? What about when his Commie Mommy left her Indonesian husband because he wasn’t fomenting a revolution against the capitalists but got a steady job with an oil company? She sent Barry back to Hawaii and never saw him again!

This man has one of the most dysfunctional childhoods I have ever heard about. And yet, she made believe that she and he have so much in common.

LOL, Michelle, what have you been smoking???
👍👍

If you want to hear about Africa or SE Asia you NEED to go international. Africa could disappear and we would never know if we went by our news coverage.
Of course we would. It would be George Bush’s fault. 😃

Fareed Zakaria (spelling fail) is good. He takes a nice global outlook.
Yeah… that’s one way of putting it. I don’t want to get off-topic, but he’s said some things that lead me to believe he really doesn’t understand certain interest groups and their motivations.

I almost spit out my cofffee when I heard Michelle Obama say twice “It’s not how much money you make, it’s about your values.” I usually hear conservatives say things like that. I wonder what the “don’t judge” crowd thought when she said it. It’s a little odd, considering the materialist values of the base of the far left fashion and entertainment industries.

Yes maybe, but I like the international approach.

News used to be different- simply inform- now it’s like a weird game show or something. 🤷

Pretty hard to respond to such vitriol. However, for all of the disadvantages you mention…he became President.

John
Yep,she loves him dearly:(Another one of her endearing love letters:rolleyes:
Peace, Carlan

Social justice begins with the right to life.
Depends on your definition of the right to life. Jesus mentioned the lives of the poor, the hungry, the homeless, the sick, the unclothed, and the prisoner in our Lord’s social justice discourse in Matt 25. Never once mentioned abortion if that is what you’re referring to. But in any case I don’t vote one issue and after tonight’s DNC opener not even conservatives on an internet forum trying to make it sound as if Democrats oppose God, can bring me down tonight. :heaven: I know better. But carry on if you must.

Michelle Obama said, 'and he believes that women are more than capable of making our own choices about our bodies and our health care. ‘That’s what my husband stands for’

Clearly she is referencing abortion but does not have the guts to say the word as none of the pro abortion speakers will

And she said ‘creating jobs again’

Reading the speeches from her and Julian Castro, it seems like they were trying to sell themselves more than sell Obama and Castro’s speech sounds similar to Marco Rubio’s

Julian Castro is not telling the truth, he said Mitt Romney wants to dismantle the middle class but median household incomes has dropped $4300 under Obama, 1 in 6 in poverty. he is accusing Romney of what Obama has done\

Castro said ‘Obama brings jobs home.’ Obama has used stimulus money to create jobs overseas, he is an outsourcer in chief and his jobs council is filled with outsourcing companies

Christians see the Bible as God breathed as take the Bible as a whole and see what it says about the unborn

Murder is wrong - Gen. 9:6; Matthew 15:19;19:18; Mark 10:19; Luke 18:20; John 8:44; Acts 3:14; and Romans 1:28-29; 13:9.

Psalm 51:5 (David says,'Behold,I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.” and Luke 1:44 (‘For behold, when the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby leaped in my womb for joy.’ Both describe the unborn using personal attributes. The unborn is given humanity

Unborn described by using personal pronouns. Jeremiah 1:5 says, ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations’

Matthew 1:20-21 states, ‘But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins’

Jesus was regarded as a child from conception. Matthew 1:20 says, 'But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.’ The Angel tells Joseph: ‘the Child who has been conceived’ is 'of the Holy Spirit

‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a Son’ Matthew 1:23

‘Rebekah his wife conceived [and] the children struggled together within her’ Genesis 25:22

‘Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. Now drink no wine or similar drink…. for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb’ Judges 13:7

The unborn called baby. Luke 1:41 states, ‘When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit (1:44)’

Same punishment was applicable to someone who kills or injures the unborn as for one who kills or injured an adult. Exodus 21:22-23 says, ‘If men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she gives birth prematurely, yet there is no injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman’s husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide. But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life…’

Mosaic law viewed the unborn as persons worthy of the same rights as adults and Jesus said of the law, ‘I came here not to undo the Law but to full fill it’

The unborn are called by God throughout birth. Similarly to Jeremiah 1:5, Isaiah 49:1 says ,‘Listen to me, O islands, And pay attention, you peoples from afar, the LORD called me from the womb; from the body of my mother He named me’

The unborn are known by God as personally as any other person already born. Psalm 139:15-16 says, ‘My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written;the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.’ Describing the prophet Jeremiah, Jeremiah 1:5 says, 'Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations

I think Michelle Obama tried to keep her speech as bipartisan as possible in tone and substance, despite subtle allusions to the “other side.” She may not have had the guts to use words such as abortion and gay marriage, but she did have the guts to say that women have the right to make their own choices regarding their bodies and their health care and that people have the right to love whomever they are in love with. What novel and bizarre ideas these must be, especially for those on the Right.

If it is bizarre to not want women to be prone to suicide and breast cancer risk which women are if they have an abortion, and to disapprove of 25 million pre born girls being killed, let alone boys then I am proud to be what is considered by liberals, bizarre. Fact that none of the pro abortion speakers will use the word says something

I think many on the libertarian “right” might well agree with Ms. Obama on this. But there’s nothing novel about a mother having the right to snuff out her unborn child - that’s been legal across the country since 1973. Catholics (and others - including Jews) have been making the case for the unborn - the target of that “novel and bizzare idea” as you sarcastically trivialize it. You fall into the euphemism of the left - the “right to make your own choices” means: “right of a mother to kill her unborn child.” Its a phony euphemism designed to divert attention away from what’s really happening.

The “right to love whomever they are in love with” ? So if a 60 year old man is in love with a 13 year old boy, then why not? Bizarre indeed.

I admire your efforts, Abyssinia. But trying to convince some people that the sanctity of life is a christian ideal, is like trying to describe a rainbow to a blind person.
