I’m not so sure about that. In the first case, you’re inviting them in because you need assistance to survive. In the second case, they’re coming in uninvited. I think there’s a difference, and isn’t the latter what the Republicans are complaining about when it comes to Obamacare?
What are you talking about?

DNC hit a grand slam on opening night. David Gergen, former advisor to 3 Republican Presidents and Bill Clinton, said on CNN, 2 more nights like this and the Democrats could pull away.
Oh, well…if David Gergen said it, then it’s a done deal. 😛

What are you talking about?
I mean that there are times we need the government, such as during disasters, such as hurricanes and earthquakes, and to provide a safety net for the poor, the elderly, the disabled by means of programs such as Medicaid and Social Security. At those times, we invite the government into our private lives out of necessity. However, when the government intrudes on our private lives, such as forcing women to undergo medical procedures such as ultrasound against their will or the HHS mandate forcing institutions to provide contraception against their religious beliefs, that is an invasion of privacy because the government was not invited to become a part of our private lives.

i was not impressed with julian castro’s speech tonight and i was not impressed with michelle obama’s speech either. michelle was so sickening sweet and had that air about her again that she and barack were such wonderful people and deserved to have another 4 years and what would America do without such wonderful people as the Obamas. i thought she was fake and i couldn’t even watch her entire speech. thank goodness i turned off the tv around the time she was giving us the grim details of when she and barack were poor. oh, the suffering!! barack and his rusted car and the coffee table he dug out of the dumpster! who are they trying to kid?
julian castro just didn’t do a thing for me. he looked kind of sleezy. like rahm emanuel.
he told a lot of untruths about mitt romney.
All I can think of when I see Michelle Obama’s face is - you support partial birth abortion - you think that it is okay for a doctor to induce labor, pull the baby through the birth canal, thrust a knife in to the baby’s head and suck the brain out with a vacuum. I can not take her seriously because of her position

Castro and Emanuel said a lot of untruths that I am sure the RNC will not allow to slide. Suspect left leaning factcheckers to ignore

Meme is ‘forward’ but they are going back with Jimmy Carter, Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton to a bygone era

So your argument against common historical knowledge is that Bernard has no real proof, since he wasn’t there? You might as well argue the founding fathers were all girls, too. Since, I can’t *prove *it.
“As the government of the United States of America is not on any sense founded on the Christian Religion, - as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of of Musselmen (Muslims), - and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.”
-Treaty of Tripoli, signed into law by John Adams
“I promised you a letter on Christianity, which I have not forgotten…The delusion…on the clause of the Constitution, which, while it secured the freedom of the press, covered also the freedom of religion, had given to the clergy a very favourite hope of an establishment of a particular form of Christianity through the United States; and as every sect believes its own form the true one, every one perhaps hoped for his own…the returning good sense of our country threatens abortion of their hopes and they (the preachers) believe that any portion of power confided to me (such as being elected president), will be excerted in opposition to their schemes. And they believe rightly: FOR I HAVE SWORN UPON THE ALTAR OF GOD, ETERNAL HOSTILITY AGAINST EVERY FORM OF TYRANNY OVER THE MIND OF MAN.”
-Thomas Jefferson, personal letter to Benjamin Rush (all-caps are also on Jefferson memorial)
“I have found Christian dogma unintelligible…Some books on Deism fell into my hands…It happened that they wrought an effect on me quite contrary to what was intended by them; for the arguments of the deists, which were quoted to be refuted, appeared much stronger than the refutations; in short I soon became a thorough deist.”
-Benjamin Franklin, “Toward the Mystery” (autobiography)
While the founding fathers, like Adams and Washington were personally Christians, and their biographies are clear on that, they understood the dangers of creating a Theocracy.
After all, they had just escaped from under the rule of a King who claimed power under Divine Right.

They put both sides of the religious freedom clause in the constitution. Free exercise and do not establish. Both sides need to exist to keep the country free for everyone. Around here, it seems that people are looking for the country to be free for them to practice their faith and have that encouraged and supported, but aren’t really ready to allow that same freedom for those who do not believe EXACTLY as they do.

WASHINGTON–(ENEWSPF)–September 4 - Americans United for Separation of Church and State has asked a federal appeals court to find that pharmacies do not have the right to opt out of filling certain prescriptions on religious or moral grounds.
enewspf.com/latest-news/health-and-fitness/36186-americans-united-urges-appeals-court-to-uphold-access-to-birth-control-at-washington-state-pharmacies.html

I sincerely hope that conscience rights prevail here. A Catholic pharmacist, for example, should have every right to refuse to fill a prescription for birth control or the morning after pill because of their moral or religious beliefs. Frankly, it sickens me that the Atheists of Americans United for Separation of Church and State would take away this God given right.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It might initially sound as oxymoronic as a pro-government libertarian, but a group of Democratic loyalists made the case here Tuesday that there really is such a thing as a “pro-life” Democrat and that their position is bolstered by the party’s social justice world view.
latimes.com/news/politics/la-pn-democratic-pro-life-dnc-20120904,0,4184022.story

This is just absolutely laughable. It is the Republican party who is truly a threat to the unborn now? Give me a break. The Democrat party is far more pro-abortion than the Republican party is.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I do think that pro-life Republicans should work with pro-life Democrats in any way that they can. We should cooperate with each other so that we can achieve the passing of more pro-life laws and such and thereby further the pro-life agenda. However, I clearly think that whoever made this comment about the Republican party being more of a threat to the unborn than the Democrat party just wasn’t thinking. The Democrat party is the one who has passed so many pro-abortion laws, not the Republican party. The Republican party is the party that has passed so many pro-life laws which seek to restrict abortion, not the Democrat party.

I’m sorry, which ones? The ones where the Democrats are for every type of abortion including infanticide (aka partial birth abortion)? The ones where the Democrats support gay so called marriage?
Also, inspiring to whom?

Charlotte, N.C., Sep 4, 2012 / 05:32 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- Supporters of Planned Parenthood argued at a Sept. 4 rally that pro-life views amount to the belief that women are inferior and should not have certain rights.
Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-Wis.) asserted that pro-life politicians are trying to remove “women’s basic rights” and the ability to control “their destinies.”
dfwcatholic.org/planned-parenthood-rally-speakers-frame-pro-life-views-as-anti-woman-56645/.html

This kind of false rhetoric is quite typical of Planned Parenthood which I prefer to call Planned Herodhood in reference to Herod who had all of the infants slaughtered in the New Testament in an attempt to kill Jesus Christ. I find it sickening that Planned Parenthood and their supporters think that the pro-life cause is “anti-woman”. No, it is not anti-woman. It is pro-woman. We are the ones who want women to have good and fulfilling lives and not make the grave mistake of having their unborn child brutally torn apart and murdered in the womb. We are the ones who realize that women who get an abortion so often deeply regret it for the rest of their lives. We are the ones who want to offer women alternatives to abortion so that they do not have to seek recourse to the legal murder of their unborn child. We are the ones who want to provide a moral and ethical alternative to having their children brutally murdered in their wombs. The pro-abortion people want the opposite. They want women to brutally murder their unborn children. They want this so that Planned Parenthood and other abortion “clinics” can make a profit. I put the word “clinics” in quotes because to me, an abortion “clinic” is not a clinic at all. To me, a clinic is a place where healing occurs, not killing and murder.

CHARLOTTE – On the night the Democrats became the first major U.S. political party to endorse gay marriage, some convention delegates remembered how it used to be — back in high school, back in the closet, back in the days when, as one said, “you’re scared because it’s not OK to be who you are.”
usatoday.com/news/politics/story/2012-09-04/gay-marriage-democratic-platform/57585834/1

Here is yet another reason why faithful and orthodox Catholics should not support the Democrats. The Democrats now officially support the legalization of same-sex “marriage”. They support changing the definition of marriage when there is only one definition of marriage in the eyes of God and His Church. So, if you are a faithful and orthodox Catholic, please strongly consider rescinding any support you have of the Democrats. After all, not only do they support gay “marriage”, they also support brutally murdering unborn children in the womb.

It upsets me knowing the most liberal parts of the US are also the most predomintly Catholic. New York, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco. 😦

The Democrat Party is conducting a War on Children.

The Democrats want to allow women to abort thereby preventing births; the Republicans want to allow the children to be starved and neglected after they are born.

God knows who is His. Calling yourself Catholic and being in good graces with God are not synonymous. This is all fallout from the terrible catechesis of Catholics during the 60s, 70s, and 80s. That, combined with American permissive social liberalism have combined to create a Catholic culture where the average congregant thinks that doctrine can be voted on or ignored if it displeases us.

They are putting partisanship over the unborn

DNC rejected a bid by pro life democrats to include them in platform

Democrats for Life has betrayed the pro life movement previously

Democrats for life hailed ObamaCare as ‘the most pro-life legislation of the last two years’ ignoring concenrs pro life groups had about abortion funding and religious liberty concern

Jill Stanek says that executive director of Democrats For Life, Kristen Day, has been ‘publicly bashing other pro-life groups’ and claiming that ‘their motive was not as stated but rather to function as covert operatives for the Republican Party.’

Democrats For Life have attacked the pro life Susan B. Anthony Trust on ObamaCare and abortion.

Kirsten Day supported an effort to jail or fine leaders of pro life group Susan B. Anthony List.
“The issue of Kristen Day’s betrayal of pro-life groups and confidences – erroneous or true – remains on the table and is insurmountable,” Stanek said. “The liberal activist Democrat lawyers who represented Driehaus in his complaint would have liked nothing better than to use his case to get to the internal communications of other national pro-life organizations. Day has publicly anticipated the prospect of these being made public, which is to say, given over to our political opponents and to the mainstream media.”
Ultimately, Stanek says the betrayal of the pro-life movement by DFLA and by Day specifically should result in kicking the pro-life Democratic group out of any public or private coalition efforts to protect those pro-life groups involved from having their private communications exposed to the public.
“Kristen Day should never again be allowed to attend any internal pro-life meeting. Prudence would also dictate that pro-lifers think carefully before communicating with her,” she concludes. “Democrats for Life should be banned from inclusion in the pro-life circle until Day is gone and the group demonstrates it is worthy of trust again.”
Stanek’s opinion could be dismissed if she were alone in her thinking but her views are echoed by a multitude of pro-life groups and leaders, including Jason Jones, who received praise for his involvement with the Bella movie and who now heads the pro-life group Whole Life.
“As president of HERO’s Whole Life America, I warned Democrats for Life of America that its deceptive “Whole Life Heroes” PAC was the kiss of death. While the DFLA attempted to use our name and confuse voters by urging the re-election of Rep. Bart Stupak’s (D-MI) Obamacare collaborators – instead it united pro-lifers and whole-lifer,” he said in a column he sent LifeNews.com.
“During campaign 2010, DFLA’s executive director Kristen Day accused pro-lifers of lying about the threats to life in Obamacare. Now, two weeks after widespread Democrat defeats and pro-life elections, Ms. Day remains silent,” he added.
Jones says the very nature of ObamaCare is something a pro-life and Deocratic group should have opposed.
“And with her support of Obamacare, Kristen Day, a proclaimed Catholic, betrayed the faith. After all, Obamacare imposes collectivism, it funds the abortion industry, it establishes government death panels, and it will severely fine the poor – the very persons who can’t afford insurance,” he writes.
He conlcudes: “No matter which way we look at it, the Democrats for Life PAC was a kiss of death. Will DFLA continue the tragedy? Or will the organization join us in the great campaign for human dignity?”

“Democrats for Life” will never…ever be given a voice in the Democrat Party.

Both parties are corrupt and lust for power. I disavow both.
