So when you claim that Trump says that being, like really smart is an official White House statement, then you really have no more argument
Trump seems to have a frontal lobe issue that results in disinhibited behavior. The little voice in his head that says “you shouldn’t say that!” is either not functioning, or he can’t hear it.
Anyway, it was not Trump that asserted his Tweets were official statements, it was his press Sec. , the DOJ, and the court.
I do have an argument that it is unofficial and entertainment.
I suppose, for those who have no regard for the consequences of his expressions, it could be classified as entertainment. As far as whether his expressions are “official” or not, if you think anything and everything he has said can’t become part of legal discovery in an official proceeding, you are fooling yourself. Everything he Tweets is on the “record”.
When they all become official statements, even when the tone, context, and subject have nothing to do with official matters and all about his personal opinion,
I fear something is wrong with your reasoning. A legal position has already been established that they are considered official statements. Unfortunately, the tome, context, and subject are irrelevant in the face of this reality. If he or you thinks he is just being funny, it ewill not matter.
As the President of the United States, his personal opinion becomes conflated with his office. The safest way for him to distinguish the two is to keep his personal opinions to himself. He could not have learned this, having no experience in politics, but a vast number of persons, both supporters and not, have advised him that this is a dangerous practice. He is too narcississtic to relinquish his Twitter account.
When they all become official statements, even when the tone, context, and subject have nothing to do with official matters and all about his personal opinion, then you clearly have proven my point.
I think you are very confused, Timothy Vail. We are telling you that they are currently being considered "offical statements’. Your point seems to be that they are not, in contradiction to what the White House and the attorneys have stated. How does this “clearly prove” your point?
Official or not, most of them are inappropriate and childish.
This is a sad fact. I suspect there are a great many members of the GOP, and perhaps even the close staff that would like to confiscate his cell phone.
