…Do you Catholics or Christians still support him?
Yes.
…Do you Catholics or Christians still support him?
Thank you for that answer. I support himYes.
There is NO NEED for a tax plan! The other thing none of the Trump haters seem to notice is that the Democrats STILL have no plan. They have no counter-proposal to the tax plan.
Amazing dodge, there was no answer to accept or reject, just a change of topic.I answered your question. Either accept or reject the answer. Asking again won’t change my answer.
Once again, you are misunderstanding what I clearly said. Intentionally? Taking lessons from Trump? My point is simply that someone said we should support Trump because he was elected. I’m saying that’s nonsense, and by analogy in 1933 Germany you would support Hitler because he was “duly elected” (the other poster’s term) just as Trump was. You should support someone because you agree with their positions, not because they got elected. In no way was I compariing Trump to Hitler–although, as I said, I could if you want me to. But no, I’m not going to. Waste fo time.To be perfectly honest, I don’t find any way to frame Trump as like Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao and the others.
Not sure why you care what I think of it, of course I oppose Muslim child brides – or any other kind. I don’t personally know anyone who doesn’t.@SyNoe @twf @Spyridon @anikins @Johnitor9 @ProVobis @ShadrachMA @angel12
Can I please have a show of hands as to how many oppose Muslim child brides and an explanation of where you were when Anthony Weiner was found guilty?
Or is this another thing that a conservative white male from the South isn’t allowed to do but everyone else is?
Absolutely. But that’s only half the story. And certainly as a Catholic I DO have the option to disrespect people–serial killers, rapists, corrupt politicians…the list goes on. There are different types of respect–you are talking about recognizing that they are human and have certain rights as human beings. Fine. No problem. give them a trial and then lock them away forever. But if they commit actions you think are abhorrent, should you “respect” them? Despise them, maybe. Did you respect Charles Manson? As Catholics we don’t have the option to disrespect anyone, not even our worst enemy. Love your enemies, right? If Trump isn’t quite your enemy, how much more should you at least give him respect.
From the Catechism:
Respect for the human person proceeds by way of respect for the principle that "everyone should look upon his neighbor (without any exception) as ‘another self,’ above all bearing in mind his life and the means necessary for living it with dignity.
Maybe I’m too young or just ignorant enough to not know Charles Manson well, he murdered some people right?Absolutely. But that’s only half the story. And certainly as a Catholic I DO have the option to disrespect people–serial killers, rapists, corrupt politicians…the list goes on. He doesn’t need to be. He’s not on trial. This is not a courtroom. There is nothing about “innocent until proven guilty” (a legal concept) or “guilty beyond a reasonable doubt,” another legal concept, in judging the reputation of a person.Roy Moore has not been found guilty in a court of law.
Some of them, yes. Take a look at St. Paul–when people came to him and asked what they should do about sinners in their congregation, Paul said to have a little talk with them. And if they sinned again? The whole congregation should get together and set them straight. And if they sinned again? Paul said to boot them out.Would you say it is holy to despise sinners and disrespect them?
So if the UN General Assembly vote condemning the US was 128-9 (the 9 included major powers like Nauru, Micronesia, and Guatemala), does that show that the US is right, and everyone else is wrong? And everyone else (including the US) has been wrong from 1948-2017? Huh. An interesting point of view. But not rational. But it is consistent: the US is the ONLY country not signing the Paris climate agreement, etc. etc. Trump is doing just a fantastic, tremendous job of isolating the US from the rest of the world (quite a feat, by the way–no one else has ever done it!). Putin is surely just rubbing his hands and chuckling as the US alienates all its allies.I couldn’t be happier that he’s changing the tone and the pace with the UN.
