You have doubts about my faith? That’s kinda weird, isn’t it your faith that you’re responsible for?
We are our brother’s keeper and my concern with liberal Catholics is that they are in it more for themselves than for others. The reason I think this is because a) it’s mostly true and b) liberals and progressives have to distort truths, make excuses and play on emotions to advance their agenda because it is illogical and doesn’t have a leg to stand on.
As much as the RCC is about sharing and caring, it’s moral premises are founded on solid logic and natural law, law that cannot be refuted by any amount of social engineering by the West.
People who really concerned about the poor and needy don’t waste time trying to get others down into the trenches; they zip their lips and do what they can without using the force of government to do it for them while they sit comfortably arm-chair quarterbacking the corporal and spiritual works of mercy thinking they’ve done their part by checking the D box every 2-4 years.
And BTW, there is more than one mortal sin. If you read the 10 commandments, you get an orientation of where each mortal sin ranks in relation to other mortal sins. Sins against God, for example, outweigh sins against man…
No one is disputing that. I’d prefer to not have a government that caters to atheists and secularists because I want to be able to protest against blasphemous things like splashing urine on a cross without getting fined or arrested because a non-Catholics feelings might be hurt or that I’ve somehow compromised artistic creativity.
That’s the road we are headed with this administration. In some other countries, it’s a crime to speak out against homosexual behavior.
How’s that for offending God?
