Oh my …I made a big mistake…please accept my apologies when i said I do not love the CC.

The CC is composed of christians like myself. I love and respect the catholic family of people, what I do not love and embrace is the teachings of the CC.

that is what I meant by…
I appreciate this, and your admission that you may not know as much as you thought you did about CC. It is a great witness to humility. 👍

I suspect that what you do not love and embrace are also erroneous ideas, and that you may embrace much more of CC than you realize. For example, you have embraced the Catholic Teaching that all who are Christians are members of the One Body.

wow…we getting closer…

However I never said I embraced the catholic teaching per say…
I have embraced what God teaches about christians…we are all of one body…

and of course you as a christian, I would hope you embrace the same teaching too and I have no doubt you do

But I believe in what you do not…, that one body consist of all christians not just catholics

to illustrate…

Just like our one body(Christ’s church) has different parts…legs, hands, feet …(catholics, evangeliticals, baptist, protestant) each part gets its message from the brain (God) and the heart (Holy Spirit) pumps blood (Jesus) into each part to keep it alive and be able to do what the brain(God) teaches and instructs each part to do to get the job done.

I and many non catholic churches embrace this and believe this is what the bible teaches

We believe that God has taught you the same through the bible.
but…

since you are not embracing this teaching

is one of the reasons for this forum

agree?

It is a shame that you were not participating in the life of the church in a state of grace, so that all these things would have had the benefit of enriching your spiritual life.
I don’t quite understand… I am not doing it anymore… I used to however (and I was very much believing everything I was told or what I found in books… I actually did read a few books which were written by the pope before he was the pope…)

There is no separation between the two. Jesus identifies Himself completely with the Church.

Not a bit! It is clear that your lack of understanding is the source of this.

There is only ONE Body, One Church. That is why all who are members of Christ are members of His ONE Body.

No, actually, what you have presented is what the Catholic Church teaches. You just are suffering from a deficient understanding of the nature of the church.

I guess you like Tweety’s method better? Just extend warm fuzzies, even if it means you ignore the Teaching of Jesus?

Hmmm. Apparently I am not “getting” what you have illustrated. You seem to want Catholics to depart from what we have recieved from the Apostles, so that we can be more receptive to persons who have departed from it.
Jesus identifies Himself with His Church His Church is not the Catholic Church.
There is but one Church and that Church is not the Catholic Church.

You really need to get an education! The Catholic church is and was the church given by Christ. Of course not being a Catholic you would dispute this historical fact because it proves your church is invalid. Just because your marriage with a catholic woman did not work out does not mean you should take it out on the catholics! Perhaps if you embraced the truths of Christs church, you would not be divorced. I feel sorry for you and hope that you will let go of the blind opinions that are not truth and embrace Christ! Christ gave us the church and you rutn your back on it! doesnt that mean that you do not know christ and are turning your back on him? I can assure you as an ex-protestant before I recieved an education that there is hope for you! Good luck!

jake the only thing it proves is how rude you are.

we all are entitled to our beliefs.
just because you were taught something for centuries does not make it right

tell some jewish fathers today it is wrong not to let their daughter have a say in who her husband will be,

what do you believe that father will think of you?

I am sorry, but when are we going to stop insulting others.

Jake do you know everything about everything there is to know about everything?

How do you associate the comment of a jewish fathers authority over his daughter with what I wrote? It is wise to think before writing. Proclaiming the truth is not being rude, it is simply telling it as it is! I am trying to open the eyes of a man who has come on a catholic web site and have created many threads disrespecting Christs church to make himslef feel better about his opinions! I do not know everything, however I do know enough to seperate truth from fiction and I also know you look foolishly biased and quick to speak without thaught or knowledge on the matter! This is not to be rude, it is simple, plain, blunt truth with the good intentions to help protestnats open there eyes!

A house devided will not stand (protestant church) The catholic church was built upon a rock (Peter) the protestant church was built apun sand (Luther or opinions)

Can you say that in a way that is not insulting other people’s intelligence too? That would show at least some class (which I am sure you have, I just encourage you to show it as well).
In problematic topics there are usually two ways to approach others and in most of the cases only one is inflammatory. There is no need to be rude. Whether or not your opinion is coinciding with the truth or not is not the issue. Even tough things can be expressed in a way that is not lacking tact.

Have you noticed that the mainline Protestant churches are standing very well and without a pope? It makes me wonder if God has a purpose for them and what that purpose is. The Jewish faith is doing very well too I might add. The good thing about them is they don’t want you. Archie Bunker once said that. Also no pope. I think they just stick to what is written.

The church Jesus Christ founded is built upon Jesus Christ (petra, all other biblical references to the rock petra are directed towards God…). The Church are all true believers, the body of Christ… in this Church there are Catholics as well as Protestants, but the Church Christ founded is not an earthly institution, a building, a state nor anything else people can built and destroy.

Matthew 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

To some degree and circumstances you are right, however I have been following this persons posts and felt the need to reach out. Sometimes like a parent you have to give a stern voice when a soft one does not work. You prefer not to however sometimes it is the only way to get a childs atention! It will not likely work however he has disregarded kind posts or have responded with ignorance and hostility. Maybe, just maybe a stern word will get his attention. Maybe he will start doing more in depth research which will show him the truths of the church! Sometimes brute tone is neccessary!

I will never let a church, made up of mortal man, dictate my steps in life
Well, mpjw, you let a Church made up of mortal men, decide what is to be considered the Bible, so you have* already *let them dictate the steps in your life. 🤷

(Unless, of course, you think these mortal men made a mistake and you think the Gospel of Thomas should be part of the Bible, or the Didache, or the Gnostic gospels or…)

I wouldn’t say that, ron. There are now over 40,000 Christian denominations, each disagreeing on Biblical doctrines.

This is the fruit of the Protestant Reformation, where an individual–fallible and with no authority–can say, “I disagree with this man’s interpretation of 1Pet 3:15 or of John 3:15 and I’m going to start my own church!”

Please pray for Christian unity!

Amen! perhaps they exist to show us how lost one can be without the church!

I was thinking more like “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Some of the most educated and articulate Catholics on CAF such as Guanaphore and Mercygate and apologists like Jimmy Akin have lived on both sides of the fence.

My ex was brought up as a Methodist, I was the Catholic.
The Church is comprised of those called out by God these include Catholics and nonCatholics alike. This is the real Church of God.
