The conditions as I understand them,You might be right. I can’t find the AAA answer to this. I thought I had it bookmarked. I’m sure Michelle Arnold quoted a Church document about SSPX Mass not fulfilling the Sunday obligation except in some rare instance. I’ll contact her.
- you attend one due to a true devotion to the Traditional Mass
- you DO NOT adhere to the schismatic acts and intentions of the the late Archbishop,
- there is NO Indult Mass or , now I would suppose any Traditional Mass offered, remember this was addressed to situations prior to the Motu Proprio,
True devotion to the Traditional Form seems to be the guiding principle in this and not merely an aversion to the Pauline Rite itself.
In any event attending one would normally fulfill the Sunday obligation even if one dropped in out of curiosity. The problem would come in repeatedly attending them
AND/OR
coming to agree with the schismatic acts of the late Archbishop.
That is at least my understanding of the situation.
And no, I have never been to one, although when I see some of the nonsense that happens I do get tempted. Sorely tempted, but I’ve never been to one…
