It just wouldn’t be Trump to gracefully concede.

He’s setting himself for his next chapter- likely to be the new Rush Limbaugh. For him- the more drama the better.

He won’t be accepted by the other former presidents.

He has a right to be a sore loser too, but I think it is ultimately self-defeating, and does his supporters and our country a disservice.

But hey, we got the hilarity of the ‘Four Seasons Total Landscaping’ press conference, so it’s not all bad.

The GA Secretary of State just announced that there will be a hand recount.

article
That should go faster, since they don’t have to for the envelope verification or unfold the ballots on a second go round. Some technicality, but I think he said they were going to recount the paper ballots by hand. For in-person votes, the result of voting is a QR code. I can’t imagine those being counted manually by a human being since they can’t be easily read by a human being.

There is some kind of audit and tabulation process used for the machine read ballots, I believe. Some states also do a sort of spot check QA on them, too, checking a certain number of machine results by hand.

FWIW, 51 stars wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. At least it’s divisible by three.
And by 17, which is a Fermat prime. Also 3 and 5 are Fermat primes.

Moreover, 51 stars also can be arranged in a visually pleasing fashion. Like this:

= = = = = = = = =
= = = = = = = =
= = = = = = = = =
= = = = = = = =
= = = = = = = = =
= = = = = = = =

If there is all of this swirling around, some lawsuits, some just allegations, and it comes to the day the state has to certify the results. What happens?
That is the ultimate question right there. What happens if states have not settled the lawsuits or litigations, what ever it is called. Then what? That be the battle.

For months we have been warned that vote by mail will cause more division than we already have. Well, now we have to deal with it.

Trump has a right to make sure that he lost fair and square. Sore looser or not, it is within his right to make sure it was fair.

I have heard that at that point, where they are still in the courts and no declared winner. This is where Trump could win. I do not know the ins and outs. But this are people that are smarter than me. That is scary.

I just read that Rudy Giuliani is prepared to take these cases all the way up to the Supreme Courtyard by Marriott.

The states will certify the results unless a court issues an injunction preventing them from doing that.

The likelihood of an injunction is looking smaller and smaller as time goes by though.

I’m curious: at what point would you be willing to accept that Trump lost? Would it be when the lawsuits are all lost? Would it be when the votes are certified by the states? Would it be when the electors vote? Would it be when Congress certifies the electoral votes?

Or would it require Trump to actually say he lost, regardless of the legal process?

I think for a lot of people, and this is the dangerous thing, it will require Trump to actually admit defeat. All of the courts, electors, and Congress, will be biased.

That is a danger to the republic.
The way of fraudulent elections ruling America is much more of a danger.

You are the winner of best comment of the election (at least so far).
Before this goes too far - I did not come up with this. I think this might be the first person.

When I said “I read” I should have specified I read it on Twitter.

Turns out @PaulinVA is clever and honest!

The state election officials in all the battlefield states have said they have seen no signs of fraud or irregularities so you have no reason to call this election ‘botched.’ Please stop assuming what you want to believe, based on zero evidence. It is an offense to truth, and to our democratic process.
It is offensive to our republican system to claim that people are hurting the process by holding a belief.
We just spent 4 years of people believing the lies of Schiff and his ilk. We spent weeks where people believed a vicious and intentional character assassination against a good man, for partisan political reasons.
I think @Victoria33 is mistaken in her hopes that the courts will find cause to change state results, but the view is far more reasonable, far more American, more patriotic than the underhanded and dishonest events perpetrated by Democrats in Washington.

We went through 4 years of the Russia hoax. Dozens of lawyers, millions of dollars.

Perhaps your statements are an offense to truth and our Democratic process.

Also, no, all government officials are not saying this is all fine and dandy, no way.

Not even the voting commission officials let alone, state legislatures, PA’s has rebelled a bit against the system calling for people to resign and the like. Lots of detail.

If anything, the computer glitches have possibly demonstrated there is a problem in 30 states.

If they were smart enough to engineer a nationwide fraud, they were smart enough to know they need the House and Senate.
They know they need the House and the Senate but it all has to do with Donald Trump and his pro life stance. They can’t stand it.

Chances are good the states will certify their votes and ignore the suits on the appropriate day, unless a judge deems there is enough credibility for a stay. In any case the electors must be named by December 12th or that state loses it votes, which did not even happen in 2020. It is a hard date that must be met. If not, there is no telling, but no state official would survive such a fiasco.

That they have been caught shows that there are checks in place.
