This past Sunday. Sadly.

At one time the Parish Council president of my parish was in an irregular marriage, with twins on the way.

We often seem to overlook the scandal right in front of us, and go for the scandal with the most newsworthiness.

No, I know what my friend told me about the evening before when her and her husband celebrated their 1st anniversary.
I also know that she was married in the Church 20 years ago and never got an annulment of that marriage and married her current husband on the beach in a ceremony preformed by a JOP.
And I also know that this person doesn’t care what the “rules” are.

@CorydonMundi, no, not until his term expired.

I would not be the one doing it, so that doesnt matter. But I do know what she told me, and I do know that she makes no bones about disagreeing with Church teaching and how that is between her and God and no priest or Bishop is going to tell her what she can/cannot do.

I see much more scandal in what my friend is doing, and I have told her so, than in Joe Biden receiving Communion, but I guess that is just me.

If only Jesus had mentioned it. Then we could scrap the rest of the Gospel.

Except when it is Joe Biden, right?
Drawing others to sin persistently and publicly demonstrates beyond doubt his current state.

The case you describe with you friend cannot be demonstrated as a persistent thing.
It may well be a one time indiscretion that has been confessed and absolved.
Point being…you do not know.

I once had a Benedictine monk teach me that if I am drawing scandal from the sins of another, I am not praying enough for that person.

Besides opposing abortion, what have Republicans done for Catholics? How is voting democratic suicide? Don’t get me wrong, I am bitterly disappointed that the Dems wholeheartedly support abortion, but besides that, how are they oppressive to Catholics in particular?

That would make us all one-issue voters then. And of course abortion is a great evil. But isn’t putting immigrant children in cages evil as well?

Nope…St. Thomas More tells in this clip what happens when politicians disregard their private conscience.

But is was the Democrats that did that.
It happened under the previous administration. I thought that little fact was pretty well-known.

two totally different situations… you can get out of jail but the baby in the womb , who thinks she is safe has no place to escape…and the horrific suffering as the child dies by approved, legal murder is no comparison.
