Are there errors in certain translation(s) of the Bible?
Are there errors in certain interpretation(s) of the Bible?
Thoughts anyone?
If all interpretations and translations were the same, why would people need to study the original languages (Greek and Hebrew) to get to the real meaning?
Here are many translations of the same line (Matthew 16:18). All translations are somewhat different. So in answer to your question, are there errors in certain translations/interpretations of the Bible–most probably “yes.”
As to which translation/interpretation of this particular line is the most accurate, I can’t say for sure since I am not a Bible scholar. Did Jesus intend for **all Christians **to be Greek Bible scholars so that we could get to the heart of the Gospel? IMO “no,” this is an unrealistic expectation. Not **all Christians **have the time or the mental capacity to be Bible scholars.
