I know of someone who’s kid - committed suicide -
Right in front of his dad - a teen -
He was a great guy in the AA circles -

Freedom is the right to choose between what is good
Not really, or Adam couldn’t have chose to sin.
if there is no need to have a gun, why would you have one,
because I want one, and mere ownership of any particular item does not constitute either good or bad. Objects are in and of themselves amoral. Use is what determines morality.

I do subscribe to this channel on YouTube.
All sorts of good pointer -
But there’s graphic situations that happen too -

Well clearly we owe it to these people to just absorb those costs

No, no, just build the wall. Save the rest for cigars and a good bourbon
Since much of it is State and Local, it comes from tax money already being collected, thus available for re-purpose.

Well, if the two go head to head, maybe I will start a pool on the odds. Given that we are in the 9th Circuit court and the issue is going to the Federal courthouse, I would wager odds that the Governor will win the case and the appeal, and that it won;t resolve unless and until it goes the SCOTUS.

And it will revolve (factually or otherwise) on whether there is or is not truly an emergency.

As much as I might be in favor of the idea (allegedly any Guard would be unarmed, but likely would deploy additional technical devices to alert to intruders), The decision of “emergency” could go either way.

I read out live data from side looking airborne radar in Vietnam. I suspect our monitoring capabilities may have improved a tad bit since then.

Winston, I am talking about Church collections not government tax collections! What’s in that cigar you’re smoking?!
Strange jump on your part since it was always tax money that pays for border security.

Surely if your Church has no local poor they can send their collection money to another Parish, that does need the aid

“Around the house?”

“Honey, if you’re in the kitchen can you grab me a Coke? I’ll lay down suppressive fire in case Red Dawn breaks out in the foyer.”

Couldn’t tell you - as I’m not the one who started the thread.
What does gun ownership have to do with a Catholic Social Justice discussion. Unless we are shooting a few turkeys for the parish soup kitchen?

I agree, though I tend to have a specific purpose behind each firearm purchase. I hate impulse buying anything.

The new 1911 in 10mm was picked up to have heavy yet portable firepower in the face of changes what criminals are using/doing. It’s also quite potent against nearly all of the critters you are going to find out here, and is easier to reload than a revolver 😉 Combine it with a good, Barnes bullet based cartridge, and it’s capable of handling anything just short of a moose.

Now, just need to pick up a couple of Sako rifles, a good Browning shotgun in either 12 or 20, and a Glock G34 (yay for Glock 9x19mm magazine modularity), and should be good for a while 🙂
