I’ve done my time at www.fresh-hope.com. SIightly different flavor of anti-Catholicism than CARM. They are heavily dispensationalist. I remain in good standing there, but I haven’t posted for quite a while. I don’t have the stamina for the everlasting return of the same ten, or so, accusations.

They are an evangelical apologetics site and have several forum one of which is for catholic and non-catholic debate. There are others that are interesting as well…

Considering they banned Dave Armstrong, I am not inclinded to try and visit. It seems the moderators ban Catholics that can defend themselves.
 
Not to mention I wrote Matt Slick, the owner, about his errors saying that the Church added to the Bible. I gave him historical evidence and he simply blew it off.

Well as someone recently returned to their faith (again) from the secular world, notfrom another faith, I admire the posters in this thread for their ability to charitably deal with people who attack their faith.

I don’t think I could maintain charity if someone attacked the sacraments. Attacking the declared dogma of the Church is like attacking the Holy Spirit who inspired it. For me it makes so much sense that Christ should be taken at His Word that it is so mind blowingly frustrating to debate ideas like Bible alone as if words are not interpreted, yet when the Christ speaks most literally and forcefully: Christ’s promise of the Eucharist and His promise of the keys to Peter there is division! This seems to irrefutably point back to the neccesity of the Holy Spirit guided Church.

See? I get lathered up just thinking about it. :o
I think I’ll keep trying to nourish my soul with the fullness of the Truth and leave ecumenism to stronger folks. I can still pray though for the people I love and those seeking to find the Truth. I’ll stick with that.

intereseting site… but I don’t think I’ll be posting there.

Personally, I’m involved at zboard.net… it’s for teens and young adults, and it’s been really helpful to discuss issues with my Protestant brothers and sisters. Although, teens can usually have the most assumptions, and they can bash pretty well. All in all though, I’m happy there.

I’ve posted there too, too bad it cannot be called fresh-arguments.com 🙂 They are into recycling - the same old arguments over and over 🙂

I stumped them with the “sola scriptura” and “interpretation” threads. Go to the apologetics forum and search for them (early pages) 🙂

Actually I think I and other catholics have done OK…I get along with most of the mods (and those here that have seen me there will tell you I do not water down my faith)…I think it has helped to speak of my faith in a manner that comes across as non-confrontational to non-catholic christians. Really if it was as bad as you say I would not be there long…

And I disagree…I think karl keatin and jimmy akin would do great there and their demanor would be perfect…

However I realize that this is not for everyone, we all ahve our own abilities and ways of doing things and when it comes to explaining our faith they are all valid under the right conditions…
 
I have been posting on www.pew-fellows.com. It is for young folks but I could not ignore the anti-catholic statements that were posted. Why don’t some of you young ones come over and give me a hand.

That sounds worth checking out. There was a lively anti-Catholic board at: Roman Catholic Observer a few months ago, but some guy named “mujsaj” ran all the “anti-s” away.

What does everyone mean by anti-Catholic? That can mean alot of different things. Whore of Babylon nonsense? Once saved always saved unless you become Catholic? You guys smell like incense? or what?

Yeah, that “Whore of Babylon” nonsense.

Anti-Catholicism also is:
Catholics believe X Y and Z (when really we don’t, and if we explain, they don’t accept our explanation) Basically: Lying about what we believe.
Catholics are not Christians
Destroy the Catholic Church types (like liBRRRals, and dissenters)
We will force the Catholic Church to teach X (when X is a dogma contrary to the Catholic faith)

Basically, it is hate, lies and of satan.
