Sorry, Ric. That was a long time coming after many dogfights over Latin on another board (not CARM).

“Hi, Ric! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you.” :tiphat:

Justin

p.s. The correct response is “Et cum spiritu tuo.”—“And with thy spirit.” 😉
“Et cum spiritu tuo.” :blessyou:

And for the record, I have banned more “Protestants” than I have banned Roman Catholics. (3 to 1)
Fairness toward Catholics has no correlation on how you treat non-catholics 🙂

The point I’m trying to get across is that I treat all fairly. 🙂

Hello All!

I just checked out the CARM board, it took me about 30 seconds to see that I don’t belong there. While I am no great apologist, I was able to pick out two big whopper lies on the first Roman Catholic page I clicked on.
Code:
 1. We worship statues.
 2. We believe that Mary will answer our prayers (instead of intercede on our behalf).
The whole thing about calling us a cult was just icing on the cake. I think I’ll stick to the CA forum.

God Bless!

John

I served my time for many years debating hostile anti-Catholics and dissenting “Catholics” in the AOL forums. After a while you realize that rabid anti-Catholics keep regurgitating the same old charges over and over again no matter what you say. Usually they don’t even try to respond–their mind is already made up and their bigotry is firmly in place. There’s something about being anonymous in a chat that brings out the worst in people–charity can go right out the window. A face to face contact (or even one to one through e-mail) is much more fruitful.

Satan or the mirror are cracking the whip on them.

HOWEVER, remember this:

Keep answering the regurgitated charges over and over. There are the “noble bereans” who lurk and will benefit from reading your fine responses.

You’ll NEVER make a point with the rabid ones, but you will find out who has listened to you when you get your final reward.

Domini Canis:
I’ve heard people mention this message board before and the anti-Catholics in it; I never knew they had a room made just for Catholics. I’ll check it out, thanks. 🙂

Miguel.
What is anti-Catholic? A false catholic , a substitute catholic or a non catholic?

Anti-catholics are those who are willing to lie about what the Catholic Church teaches, misinterprets Catholic teachings in order to bash the Church. Examples: Jack Chick(1), Bart Brewer, Ian Paisley, Lorraine Boettner, etc.

(1) I normally spell his name with 3 K’s, but I won’t do it here 🙂

Richard Lamb:
I want to invite all catholics over to another site, including Catholic answers apologists.,

www.carm.org

They are an evangelical apologetics site and have several forum one of which is for catholic and non-catholic debate. There are others that are interesting as well…
Hi Richard,

Being a former “Catholic board” CARM poster, and non-Catholic, I would recommend small doses of CARM due to the intensity of the subjects of debate on the CAT board (i.e. protestantism vs. Catholicism). It’s hard from some, including myself, to always maintain a proper sense of decorum and not become either defensive or accusative. And because of that, imho anyway, some get banned and some just fade away… :tiphat:

P.S. It’s great to see you again Richard. May God bless you and keep you.

Same here…I remember our debates fondly…I too step away at times from carm…but it has helped me tremedously to learn more about my own faith…Matt Slick, Would have a heart attak if he new this.

I pray we can engage here, or there in christian love again…

Good times… :dancing:

It’ll have to be here, or here: Defenders of the Catholic Faith because I won’t be revisiting CARM anytime soon.
