“I want to invite all catholics over to another site, including Catholic answers apologists.,” said Richard Lamb.

NO THANKS!

Must God help us all to be proud of beeing catholic!

It is an invitation, and I am not asking anyone to leave this one for that one…

The members’ (and especially the mods) attitude seems to be that, no matter what the Catholic Church teaches, the CARM idea of what Catholicism is all about far more true that anything the Church says for Herself.
Justin
This is very true - one of the mods recently posted that she will not use Catholic websites as sources because “they lie.” So instead she uses material from Secular Humanism and “Catholics” for a Free Choice to make her cases against the Church.

but every once in a while someone posts that they have converted to Catholicicms because of the debate there…Makes it all worth it…

Yes, I see, but sometimes to say no to invitations is the best way to react.

Ecumenism is what we want and what we think God wants. My reservatiaon is about not “sacrifying” the catholic truths on the protestants “alter”.

God Bless!

I will never sacrifice catholic truth…I go there to proclaim it and defend it…and to sharpen my skills of course:nerd: …

Yeah, linear mode is what they call it at CARM as well. Linear means the messages line up one after the other, page after page. Both here and at CARM you can choose Linear mode vs. “threaded” mode or what I call outline format. Threaded mode is what the old Steve Ray board used to be, now they are Linear. And threaded is what Krehbiel uses but his board is not that busy. Here threaded mode displays just one message, while the rest are outlined with links I think.

I was impressed by this board since I program a little in PHP myself. A lot of options are available. Whoever programmed this did a great job. Except for the colors. 😛

Phil P

I like the colors

NAH, not you? 🙂

DianeS came close to banning me, but it never happened.

Having my own disagreements with one BWSmith! (All friendly, of course!)

God bless,

Give me that REAL old time religion!
The CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2,000 years of history!
Hi Bill

How are you and your family doing? I do hope well. I think of you at times, I was on CARM many moons ago. Take care
Brian

So this is Catholic Answers, eh?

Hello all.

Sícut cérvus desíderat ad fóntes aquárum:íta desíderat ánima méa ad te, Déus.

Is she still there?

CARM is where I discovered religion-on-the-web by accident back in '98. Got banned once or twice or more. Haven’t even looked at the boards probably for a couple years now.

It is (was?) run by Matt Slick, a Calvinist minister of some kind. A different board for almost every religion. IMO, mostly bashing.

I have been a member of CARM for a long time, probably about 5 years. Well, I did get banned from there for a bit, but they let me back.

They do try to be fair, though it is difficult to be fair all the time. Only Solomon was that wise.

The one thing I can say good about CARM is because of CARM, I have learned how to defend the Catholic Faith. When I first started visiting CARM there was one lady who is no longer there who would say even more outrageous things against Catholicism than what is said there now.

It has calmed down quite a bit from back then.

Yes Janice,

That is why we have so many mods there - to try to keep it civil.

Hi Janice,
Code:
How ya doing?

I think Diane is as fair as can be expected given her views. Also the other mods seem very fair. I really have only had run-ins with Diane, and from what I remember, only when conversing with her on a discussion. :o

Am curious, do you feel that you are welcomed on CARM? And not just you, but any Cath who defends the faith.
Thanks,
Stephanie

For awhile it seemed all the Protestant posters were Mods! Every one of you seemed to have that little guy next to your name. 🙂

Welcomed? I wouldn’t exactly use that word. But we are needed. If all the Catholics went away, they would have to shut down the Catholic board and from what I can tell, the Catholic board is one of the busiest on the site.

I guess that is why they don’t ban us Catholics as quickly as, say, the folks at Rapture Ready do.

Nice seeing you here, Stephanie.

Good to see you too!

Have another question. Are we in any way “funding” CARM with our presence there? Just curious.

Well, no one can argue about the good that comes out of your guys work there. I think I count at least 6 conversions/reverts who give at least partial credit to the Cath board. I’m sure there will be more, even if years away and you never hear about it! 🙂

Stephanie

You have this wonderful way about you Richard. And you totally ignore people when they are being jerky to you.

When I encounter an Internet Bully, its SO…HARD…FOR…ME…TO…SHUT…UP!

And there is just one too many bullies over there for me. My fault, I’m sure.

You keep Rockin Richard!
