Did you make 5 and 6 oxymorons on purpose? Because for some reason I’ve felt more like a 6 on some days.

Who said I don’t believe in works? You keep filling in the blanks with straw man arguments. I think you have some serious misconceptions about basic Christian doctrine of justification.

Well, I did head Romans pretty loudly… “apart from works” - a subtle Jab at Catholics, no?

I really don’t like your list. And I don’t know what you mean by “good Catholic” based on the other opinions.

So I will pick “Just avoiding Hell”
 
The main thing I struggle with is I just can’t see how God can keep 7.6 billion people apart. How could He even know the state of my soul? Perhaps I will be confused with somebody else when it comes to judgement day.

So I just honour the moral teachings of the Church. They all make sense anyhow.

I hope at the last second I will have enough humility to say “Sorry, God” and get into heaven by a thread.

Not a jab, just like to proclaim the gospel where and when I can. The question was kind of a self evaluation thing. The way I see it, I don’t deserve God’s grace, yet he gives it freely. That was just in recognition of that. If its of benefit to others to say it, so much the better. Believe it or not, I love Catholics. You may disagree with me on this (which is fine), but I adhere to the catholic faith. There are some important points of doctrine that I disagree with, but there is much to admire as well. The nature of forums like this is that you don’t always see where people agree. People tend to try to elucidate where they disagree and why. So it may not always be apparent when someone approves.

Sorry to hear that. Sometimes we all need a break. I can see how we all get defensive, especially when defending closely held beliefs, and it can get difficult when you get used to being defensive to avoid making gruff comments. We all do it. Take a break and come back refreshed. I am sure there are many here who appreciate your contributions even if some don’t agree with you.

I would like to avoid hell and perhaps purgatory. I have a lot to repentance due to the Trinity. I pray for others to make it in to Heaven. Would like to think others are praying that I make it all the way home.
