They’re predicting the dreaded “s” word here, yes, the white stuff. (9" last winter. We had to bring our rooster inside.) I used to live in Vegas. I’ll take dust over the “s” any day.

Earlier, the weather forecast called for snow on Monday, and sleet snow and rain on Thursday. Now, no snow on Monday, but freezing rain on Thursday.

It will be very cold up here in Wisconsin for the next few days.
It’s 9 degrees F. right now and it will be 0 degrees overnight with very cold wind chills of anywhere from -15 to -25 below 0 F.
The weather service puts out wind chill advisories, reminding people to cover any exposed skin, as your skin can freeze within 30 seconds in this kind of weather, where you can get frostbite.
What people like to do for fun in this weather, is take a coffee cup full of really hot water, and toss it up into the air outside, and just watch it freeze in mid-air in front of their eyes, it’s so cold outside.
We get the Arctic air that comes down this way and the Canadian cold fronts, too.

It must be very pretty in a cold country with ice,snow,all the lights and decorations !And,you can eat heavy nice foods for Christmas.Usually cold salads,cold meat cold drinks was the norm here growing up.

Where I live, it sure is pretty, pretty dangerous. I’m kidding, but only partially. It’s nice, because I live in the forest, and it’s really pretty when it snows, even though it rarely ever does. I lived in a mixed Forest, but a lot of the trees are Longleaf Pines.

The wind can blow right through your head literally, so it can make your head and sinuses really hurt, where it literally feels like you’re being stabbed with something sharp in your sinuses.
My nose literally tends to start running, too. Not a pretty sight! LOL!!
I bundle up nice and warm if we have to go out, which we will on Wed. when it will be really cold since I have a Chiro. appt.
I want to keep the appt. since my head has been quite sore.
This is hot chocolate drinking weather for me now, and I bought a large container of Nestle’s hot chocolate mix, which is caffeine-free, so I have that to drink. I like to put little marshmallows in it some times, but I need to get some of those.

I prefer to have caffeine, but I totally understand why you might not want to. My mother can’t have caffeine because of her thyroid. In fact, me without caffeine, means I get a headache. I know I’m addicted. But with the weather we may or may not have coming here Thursday, I have incentive to consume caffeine.

It was -2F/-19C when I got up this am. It has warmed up to 9F/-12C now. It has been sunny all day though and very little wind.

Woke up and it was 10F. It’s warmed up to 20F. But my feet are still cold. We were supposed to get up to 42F but now lowered to 36F. No laundry today. (Woke up to find clothes got something spilled on them. Was going to do laundry til I saw the temperature.)
Had to hastily put a sheet up in the window after baby kitten knocked blinds out. Will replace with curtain when it’s warmer. Can’t stand this arctic air. Too cold to do anyting. So am staying snuggly in my Snuggie and only doing what is necessary as my mother’s caregiver. Also drinking lots of cocoa.

It is a sunny day here today, although the temperature is 19F right now. Warming up to 24 degrees as the day goes on, lol! Supposed to be like this til next week.
