Link doesn’t work. Where did they get their numbers?
Antivirus? 😛

Inflation ALWAYS hurts the poor.

I’d like to know why Chavez had to go to Cuba for medical care? Is Venezuela that lacking in quality health care?

I’d also like to know why he had to tap Cuban engineers to figure out Venezuela’s infamous rolling electricity blackouts.

NPR
Venezuela’s economy is in trouble despite the country’s huge oil reserves. Blackouts plague major cities. Its inflation rate is among the world’s highest. Private enterprise has been so hammered, the World Bank says, that Venezuela is forced to import almost everything it needs.

I was going to say, having been stationed in Europe, that most anti-Americanism is because
Europe was top dog for a long time 1500-1945, That they can’t stand the thought that
A country that they considered a bumpkin backwater is top dog now. 😉
Well, my French grandmother LOVED Americans. When the Americans liberated France, she told my uncle (her son) to invite to dinner the first American he saw.

She also encouraged my mom to marry one. 🙂

I am not saying ALL Europeans are anti-american, but alot are. I blame the European media,
academia, and just plain ungratefulness.

I know that. 🙂

People who have actually been to America or know anything about us usually love us. All my family on my mother’s side still lives in France. But they love the US. One of my cousins comes at least once a year.

Most anti-American rants are signs of ignorance, IMHO.

Screw Europe. Everyone has had it with them. Italy, Spain, this and that. They can go running around themselves. Italy will form a government and there will be no need for reelections there. Our economy is picking up like heck. And our stock markets will continue to make new highs.

What do you mean by “anti-American” if I may ask? Is it like “anti-Israel” if one opposes the illegal occupation? Or you mean someone like the US President who is equally labelled “anti-American” by some?

If you wish to pray for someone, Hugo Chavez needs a lot of prayer. He supported communism.

I’m not anti-American, I’m pro-American. Deeply so in fact - roll on manifest destiny. Many are like me.

You don’t do yourself any favours with “ungratefulness” though because it displays a shocking disregard for a number of things that WILL. CAUSE. lots of people from European countries to react badly. It is this sort of thing that reinforces myths about Americans which are not generally true.

It is true to say that the cold war has been raging in Europe since the 50s as it has in the USA. The USA has been the figurehead for people to demoralize against, and that is a lot easier in Europe because the USA is a different place. You already have your own fifth column of eg: feminists, socialists etc. that militate against the USA - how much more rampant would that be if they didn’t even have to fight patriotism to do it.

Personally I can be detached and honestly see why it is entirely legitimate to use that word. I would not use it unless I wanted to start an argument, though.
Screw Europe.
It’s a shame you say that, because everyone over here in Europe speaks very highly of you, MugenOne.🙂

Our economy is picking up like heck.
Eh? This is not true. I was just reading about this today: In the US, the job market won’t catch fire. Unemployment is about 8%. Q4 GDP of 2012 rose a scant 0.1%, public debt as a percentage of GDP is more 100%.

The US economy is barely growing. Still better than most ecomonies. No doubt! But your statement isn’t accurate.
And our stock markets will continue to make new highs.
That does not reflect the economic situation unfortunately. Very few people will benefit from that.

The moment someone takes away Ben Bernanke’s printing machine, we would know better.

Better tell Mr. Obama. He says we are in a recovery. And so do those who voted him in. 😉

Like the Venezuelans, we got what we voted for. :o

I was unaware that Chavez stood tall against our imperial president, Obama. This is news to me. Anyway, Chavez was a murderous thug who will not be missed. Rob
That depends on whether you were one of the poor he helped or one of the bullies he stood up to…

Or one the poor starving in the streets after he ruined the country’s economy.

Or if you ever tried to run a campaign against him.

Not when the subject matter concerns the death of a fearless and implacable opponent of American imperialism, I don’t.

Hopefully his death will not see a deterioration in opposing American imperialism within Venezuela.
Please see post 51.

Funny for you to already lay blame on FOX.
I blamed FOX? Really? Where?
Remember “We came, we saw, he died”?
Oh you mean a woman that is part of a poitical party that I have no support for and nothing to do with?

Yeah, that sort of comment is precisely what I am talking aabout and was totally beneath her position.

It reflected very badly on her administration, her party and the people she was elected to serve, IMHO.

Not an eample to model oneself on.

Let me help you out.
While I am sure that these mockers and gloaters in no way reflect the majority of the American public, they are doing their fellow Americans a terrible disservice by sending these messages. In the age of global communication, we should realise just how much responsibility we each have to represent our country and people fairly.

I am dreading the very likely Fox News blunder which will unfairly depict the people of the US as the sort of country that will kick a chap when he is down or spit on his grave.

Then it only remains for other news outlets like RT to give a more sympathetic view and BOOM, more pro Chavez style leaders achieve power. And not just in Venezula.

SamH I take it you still haven’t been able to access the link I posted. Anyone else having ‘trouble’… or is it only SamH?
